i am a resident at sacramento. this building went up for sale a couple of years ago, and i am understanding housing authority has some obligations, as we probably all know from the federal court. the notice that was posted on the for sale sign for this meeting was the first notice i received about this project. i live in the subsidized cousin. -- housing. the parking lot is a parking lot. cars are going to be taken out of that parking lot and put out on the street. i do not think that, other than subsidized housing with rent- controlled -- you guys, from my understanding -- there are too many cars on the street as is. this is a parking lot. more cars are going to go out on the street as a result of that. the other that i want to bring up is the sign for this hearing is in english only. the majority of the residents that live next door that would be most affected are russian, chinese, korean, and mexican. many russian, chinese, and korean. not so many mexican. but it is all in english. i know that when i go down cle

one key issue i have discussed with people in sacramento, is the fact the state needs to grow to come out of the current situation. we need a clear investment in infrastructure, with the power grid and water supply. as the 7th economy, we need a coherent policy with some continuity to signal to the rest o the w -- of the world, to the investors who want to put money into california, that they are serious about an infrastructure program. that word is still to come. that is part of the difficulty of hthe legislative agenda. we want to advocate for some form of predictability in the way we issue bonds. the 1-a and 1-b bonds. the infrastructure has been capacity. they haven't wanted to issue this because of the difficulty of rating them. paying more interest for borrowing when the credit rating is not good. a number of projects at the local level were moved forward with great advocacy. on the expectation a good chunk of the funding plan would be on the bonds. for us, we are no longer advancing sales tax money. we have done this expecting the state to catch up. if the state doesn't come th

sacramento. i gave a talk at santa rosa and the city college in san francisco was largely a product of the pwa and has wonderful art work all over it by the art in action project at the treasure island fair. and then there's these special schools for crippled children. this is in the mission district and it's a beautiful school with all the features we take for granted because of the americans with disabilities act. it has wonderful tiles. this was not accidental. this is the sunshine school. we made the school as beautiful as possible to take the children's minds off their problems. it was also crippled children. this might sound familiar to you if you know the history of president roosevelt. he was paralyzed by polio on the threshold of a promising career. he came back and few americans knew how disabled he was. he learned compassion. he learned he could help other people of different races that he never met before. this is what we used his inheritance for. this lead to the polio vaccine. this
