same price to cross the san mateo bridge. but officials are expressing support for a new pricing plan. the same plan drivers already used on the bay bridge. it's called congestion toll pricing. in july drivers of the bay bridge started paying $6 to cross during peak rush hour times and $4 during nonpeak hours. the different prices are supposed to encourage drivers to cross the bridge when there are fewer vehicles on the road. and therefore cut down on some of the wait times at the toll plaza. yesterday authorities revealed a new county wide transportation plan. the first of its kind in ten years. in that plan congestion toll pricing is recommended for both dumbarton and san mateo bridge. san mateo transportation officials could start taking a closer look at the congestion toll pricing option this fall. but they say they first want to wait for the results of a study that looks at how and the impact of congestion toll pricing on the bay bridge. authorities are going to wait for that study to come out and could start looking at
