today is valentines day. for the 10th year in a row, same sex couples are hoping to tie the knot at city hall. this year there is a twist. kristen is at city hall where crowds are gathering. kristen. >> reporter: good morning frank. crowds just starting to gather here. we know there are dozens of people inside, in support of same-sex marriage, turning out on valentines day to do what is a ritual, request a marriage license even though they know legally they cannot have one. ten couples are inside right now trying to see whether or not they can get that marriage license and then staging a sit in once they are turned away. i talked to a couple of couples who have done this many times over. one couple told me they spent six valentines day together at similar protests the fight can be discouraging but in the end it is all worth it. >>> every valentines day we have been together has been spent at city hall applying for a marriage license we have been turned down for. but at the same time, it is not so tough becaus
