abc7's amy hollyfield is live at crissy field with the latest. amy? >> reporter: they believe that she took public transportation to the golden gate bridge. so this has been the focus of their search. 15-year-old allison bayliss was last seen monday at the high school where she is a sophomore. her bicycle was found in the parking lot near the bridge at 4:45 yesterday morning. a massive search launched in the area. family friend says that alliy was feeling icelated and upset -- isolated and upset before she disappeared. her danville community has been determined to find her. turned out in huge numbers. word spread through social media. >> i heard she was missing, an i logged to facebook and invited 500 of my friends. >> her facebook page dedicated to the search has had more than 8,000 visits. source says that her facebook page also has clues on it. that police are using that to help them in the investigation. a source says she posted an update to her page that leads police to believe she may have been intended to take her own life. live in san francisc

abc7's amy hollyfield is live at the oakland police department. amy? >> reporter: yeah, it started as a block party. residents say it turned into a sideshow and turned violent at 9:20 last night. two people were shot to death. man and woman. third victim, a woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. it happened at 88th and international boulevard. police say they were sitting in a car when they were shot. witnesses in the area told abc7 a sideshow had been going on at the time of the shooting. officer have been trying to bring an end to sideshows that often turn violent. last summer they reported it had been a side-show free summer. it's when people show off the car doing doughnuts and racing up and down the street. residents say it looks like sideshows are back in oakland. no arrests were made in last night's shooting and police haven't commented whether there was a side show going on. live in oakland, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> thank you very much. >> 6:01 now. >>> this morning, police in gilroy are searching for a 15-year-old boy who

amy hollyfield is live in san jose what they are calling rotating brownouts? >> believe it or not firefighters came up with the idea. they really wanted to avoid closing stations altogether. it takes trucks out of commission, it sidelines them on a rotating basis. firefighters are concerned this will impact their response time. yesterday gave them a perfect example, there were three fires in 30 minutes yesterday morning in san jose. those situations could be tough to handle. firefighters say they honestly don't know what to expect. they've never done this before, but they are hoping that this is the lesser of two evils. >>> fire stations will remain open but it's just, when i say units, truck company or an engine company will be shut down for that day. >> and the company includes firefighters? >> that's right. that is the cost savings. >> here is the plan. every day an engine will be pulled from service from two fire stations. they will rotate the brownouts and only happen at stations that have more than one truck. every station will always have a truck ready

abc7's amy hollyfield is live in san francisco with how much more we can expect to pay. amy? >> reporter: this is a real head-scratcher for you this morning over your coffee. if you use less, should you pay more? the current rate give those who use a little energy a break. idea to encourage people to conserve. but those who use the most energy are actually charged more than the service actually costs. pg&e says this is an unfair burden. the proposal will increase rate for customers who use the smallest amount of energy. if this passes it would be the most radical changes in the last decade. critics say it is robbing paul to pay peter and doesn't encourage conservation. pg&e says those who use a lot of energy aren't necessarily the rich. a viewer told me on the facebook she would appreciate closing the gap. she is a stay-at-home mom and has three kids and says they use a lot of energy on a limited budget. their bill is a tough one to pay. interesting issue. tell us what you think. i'd love to hear from you on the facebook page and twitter account. this will be voted on this mo

amy hollyfield is live at the golden gate bridge. nice morning for a bike ride. >> it's a little chilly right now but it's supposed to be nice its fun party. why not bike to work. they have this throughout the bay area. you get apple juice and you can get a bite or dessert. they are trying to lure everyone out of their cars with all kinds of tricks. it started back in 1994 and picked up momentum in three years. they have seen a 250% increase in the number of participants. last year they set a record. they saw the largest number of people cycling in one spot in the event's history. 1700 people in sproul plaza. they tried to make sure you have no excuses. have these pit stops throughout the bay area. there is 25 in san francisco. they are trying to encourage you to take today the first day and then try it for a month and then keep going. it's obviously good for you and good for the environment. they want to convince people because of the high gas prices right now. so they are hoping people will really take this seriously and think hard

amy hollyfield has our story. so cleanup underway this morning. >> the situation got out of hand on alum rock boulevard. look at the mess behind me, six businesses had their windows smashed out. one business owner told us he is upset that people who are out celebrating would do harm. the chaos started around 11:00 last night. police say there were several fights. there were people throwing bottles at police officers and a crowd even stopped a bus that had passengers on it. one person was stabbed in the crowd. he was able to walk into the hospital and ask for help. one business owner told us the violence surprised him. >>> we saw all these people walking by. they walked into the place and we called the police but they couldn't do anything last night. this morning, we make a report. >> he has had his business for about eight months. he doesn't know how much it will cost him. police were out last night and 100 special op police officers last night. they haven't released the number of people that were arrested or the

live in martinez, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> thanks a lot. bart officials this week will tack what is sure to be a controversial plan. the transit agency may greatly expand the taser program hoping ironically that it would reduce the mishap that the officers have had involving tasers. abc7's terry mcsweeney is live with more. terry? >> reporter: the thinking is if every bart police officer has a taser on him or her at all times they will become very familiar with that weapon. right now, there are only 60 tasers in the bart p.d. not enough for taser to goes to every officer. they want to buy 130 more. take a look at the incident that prompted this. go to january 1, 2009. the fatal shooting of a passenger by bart cop johannes mehserle who said he was shooting the taser. he doesn't usually have one but he borrowed it a few hours before the incident. they recommend giving each officer a taser to increase familiarity with the non-lethal weapon. they said not buying the tasers would leave bart police with fewer non-lethal options dealing with the v

amy hollyfield has the latest. >> reporter: they have been searching all morning and plans to give us an update at 11:30 this morning for a status update. there is a new picture this morning, this one surfaced on facebook, it shows her getting out of the embarcadero bart station on monday morning. this is exactly what her friends and family that she had planned and then they believe she headed to the golden gate bridge. today four different public agencies have been searching for allison bayliss along the waterfront on foot, all of them watching the shoreline and watching the golden gate bridge looking for any signs of 15-year-old girl. she was last seen monday morning at her high school. she had been feeling upset and isolated. her bike was found near the golden gate bridge yesterday morning. even though sources say she left a status on her facebook page indicating she may take her own life. >> we are hopeful we will find her. we generally will search very thoroughly to find a missing person. >> a couple of volunteers from danville showed up trying to figure out how to help, even in

amy hollyfield, "abc 7 news". >> kristen: it's 6:31. a yemeni man accused of trying to ram his way into a cockpit on flight to sfo is due back in san francisco federal court this morning. a bail hearing is set for 28-year-old rageh al-murisi who is facing one count of interfering with a flight crew. it happened on sunday night during an american airlines flight from chicago to sfo. he was restrained by two flight attendants and two passengers including a retired san mateo police officer. during the court appearance it was revealed that he was carrying several valid and expired forms of i.d. and two checks totaling $13,000. he also had no luggage. >> eric: technicians are trying to figure out what caused a san francisco computer assisted emergency dispatch system to crash. system went down after 9:30 yesterday morning forcing police and fire dispatchers to manually write down and retrieve information for about two hours. officials say it did not affect 911 service in the city and a back-up computer dispatch system had to be put in place

amy hollyfield joins us from knightsen with more. >> sheriff's detectives aren't saying who did this, they are interviewing people in shorn california but the focus isn't so much who did it but the fact that the baby is okay. >> probe the baby at home. >> four-month-old ramy disappeared saturday night or sunday morning. they checked on her in the morning she was gone. they believe somebody came in and snapped her. they say a family member is suspected of doing this. investigators are not confirming that to us this morning. the neighbor says it's a relative who was concerned about the kid's care, the family has four children. the concern, the neighbor says, is unfounded. they say they take fine care of their kids. amy hollyfield has the latest. >> reporter: they have been searching all morning and plans to give us an update at 11:30 this morning for a status update. there is a new picture this morning, this one surfaced on facebook, it shows her getting out of the embarcadero bart station on monday morning. this is exactly what her friends and family that she had planned and then they believe she headed to the golden gate bridge. today four different public agencies have been searching for allison bayliss along the waterfront on foot, all of them watching the shoreline and watching the golden gate bridge looking for any signs of 15-year-old girl. she was last seen monday morning at her high school. she had been feeling upset and isolated. her bike was found near the golden gate bridge yesterday morning. even though sources say she left a status on her facebook page indicating she may take her own life. >> we are hopeful we will find her. we generally will search very thoroughly to find a missing person. >> a couple of volunteers from danville showed up trying to figure out how to help, even in

amy hollyfield joins us in san francisco with more. >> same situation here. no threats have been reported but police officers and their dogs of been very visible in downtown san francisco this morning. >> commuters were greeted with a new reality this morning. more police officers watching auto for anything suspicious now that osama bin laden is dead. >> as a precaution we have alerted the officers on patrol and all personnel to be alert in the transit areas places of worship and people may gather and normally protest. >> they are in constant communication with homeland security and keeping a close eye on the ground. and bart officers added more officers to the trains and platforms. >> we had a lot of officers in training we are asking them to come in. >> neither agency has received a net or has any indication that bay area will be a terrorist target. >> we wanted to make sure if anybody was going to try to do us harm we're going to have lots and lots of visible officers out there. >> the officers' prechbz made feel secure and others the thought it was hype.

amy hollyfield is s at a job fair in oakland. are people lining up? >> reporter: there was a line when it opened at 9:00. but the good news there are jobs inside. banks are hiring. kaiser has about 200 job openings just here in the east bay. s.f.o. has about 60 job openings. there are about 30 employers here at laneny college where the job fair is happening. employers tell me things are improving. so what they are seeing matches up with the numbers that california unemployment rate has dropped a little bit. but job-seekers aren't quite feeling it yet. they tell me it's still pretty tough out there. u.s. representative barbara lee is also still frustrated. her office helped organize the job fare. >> yes, we are seeing glimmers of hope. when you look at what the unemployment rate is. over 11% in california, then when you look at communities of color, african-american unemployment is over 16%. that is recorded. we know it's 25 to 35%. also latino unemployment. it's a shame and a disgrace. >> try to make the calls to different agencies i am affiliated wit
