this area rhode island massachusetts has been getting slammed. a result has been a ton of people without power. trees have come down snapped lines the polls are down and utility workers are trying to get the lights back on. there are 2707 thousand people here in the state of rhode island. about half of the state. so it's a big struggle they are expecting it to take several days to get the lights back on. one of the things that stopped the progress was the wind. because of the wind they couldn't get utility workers up in the air to address some of the higher problems and get the lights back on. a lot of people still without power. that should last for half of the week. we will be monitoring that progress tomorrow. high tied striking right about now. they are hoping that will be a flooding issue that will go back out to sea. they are not expecting the intense flooding that they were worried about that they suffered in the 1930s during the 1950s. in that sense they feel lukey. they have a big power problem coming in the coming days. >> are the folks
