monika? >> thank you so much, howard. we've been on the phones with the folks over at the bay bridge and they tell us about 10 minutes ago, the accident that happened at about 3:20 this morning was cleared to the side of the road. this is what it looks like at kent narrows looking much better. let's take a closer look on the east side of the bay bridge span and show you what it looks like. you'll see traffic is still heavy. it is getting through with most of the lanes open at the accident scene. three vehicles and a tractor trailer involved so it took awhile to figure everything out and get the paperwork done and get it moved out of the roadway. now, we'll take a look on the other side of the bay bridge. once you're past the bridge span, you'll be ok heading in toward annapolis. let's go closer into town on the inner loop of the beltway, the barrels were moved to the side of the road. all construction cleared up from connecticut avenue over to georgia avenue. coming up in my next report, we'll take a peek into virginia at

here's monika samtani. an an hour now, this situation northbound on 395. >>> you're looking live from sky 9 on the northbound side at edsall road. police activity blocking the ramp to edsall road and again authorities tell us that's going to be this way for at least another 45 minutes to an hour. up to the scene northbound on 395 it's actually jammed like this from springfield up toward edsall road. you might want to plan early. the beltway at van dorn street, it's going to be one of the options. go ahead and take the beltway to van dorn and up to duke street and also take it to back lick road and up toward braddock and route 236 to get around it and avoid 395 if you can. a look now at a map. now there are no problems heading up to the 14th street bridge. by the way metro wheaton escalators are open. you have a shuttle bus service available for you. vre 302 out of fredericksburg is canceled. therefore 304 will be overcrowded. metro is accepting vre tickets this morning. coming up another look at 395 at 6:25

monika santani stepping in. we have a very busy, busy monday morning. we have had a situation in the district on the southbound side of 295 at south capital street where a huge hole developed southbound side in the right lane. it is three by six feet. police is on the scene assessing the situation. it is a bit of a safety concern. in the meantime the right lane is blocked. left lane is getting by. south capital street remains blocked as well. your choices are north of this point take malcolm x, on the south side, take chesapeake street to overlook avenue. that is your detour. police are on the scene helping you get around the situation as well. we are hearing south capital street may reopen by 5:00. let's go over to the map north side of town. on the beltway where you have construction being picked up. very slow and heavy as they were picking up the cones from the overnight construction. lanes should be reopened shortly and i'll show you that next time around as well. coming up in my next report we'll look at both those situations. >>> thank you monika.
