and that means our winds go back to the north and northeast. temperatures on thursday. maybe 5 or 6 degrees cooler than tomorrow. we're still talking mid- to upper 60s. a little below average. but tomorrow, should be in the low, even some mid-70s with a lot of sunshine. so really nice day coming up. pleasant day. and looks like this pattern, as this high moves off the east coast, our winds go more back to the southwest. even warmer conditions coming for the weekend. still looking at the tropics. yeah, felipe is still out there. tropical storm may become a category 1 hurricane before it dies and heads way out in the atlantic this. mess out in the eastern sections, east of our region, may spin up an area of low pressure. at least one of the models has something spinning up here. see, what happens as we get high pressure up here, it moves offshore. winds around the high pressure can cause a spin to develop down here in the bahamas, which are still pretty warm. two areas east of the bahamas. and the gulf of mexico. something could develop by the latter part of the weekend.

but the winds tomorrow should shift more to the north and northeast. temperatures tomorrow, probably running 6 or 7 degrees cooler than today. that means upper 60s rather than mid-70s. to the west, first of the fall winter storms coming to the coast. look at that. rain just from central california, northward on the coast. rain and snow inland areas. and rain amazing here in new mexico and texas. they've seen like no rain at all in the last four months. so they need this. hopefully it will move across north texas. that's where the worst of the drought is. the rest of the country, not a cloud to be seen. just east of massachusetts, a few clouds and some shower activity between cuba and the keys there. something may develop there in sort of a tropical matter. that could spin up an area of tropical rain. for our region, weak front coming through. a little cooler. then it goes back to warmer temps over the weekend. as this high moves off, we could actually get up to 80 on sunday and monday. northeast winds on the bay. and a small craft advisory, still in ef

in the north bay hills, right now we have reports of winds gusting out of the north, northeast t 34 miles an hour. with that relative humidity coming down, it is about 15%. you can tell just how dry it is above the layer of fog and low clouds that we still have. higher pressure will start to ao the south. it is near the nevada-california-oregon border. winds will peak with the down sloping wind. red flag warnings are in affect for the north bay mountains and the east bay hills and the diablo range. look out for gusts to 40 miles an hour. low humidity with those gusty winds. with that in mind i want to show you what the fire weather index looks like. this takes into account the wind and the humidity, and tomorrow morning you can see the blues and yellows in the north bay. also the diablo range, we are facing moderate to high fire danger. the fire danger starts to ease up a bit in the afternoon, but still running on the moderate side as indicated here in blue. by morning, definitely grab a sweater or jacket. it is going to be on the cool side in the valleys. 47 in livermore. morgan hill, lo

here is the latest doppler radar, everything moving off towards the north, northeast at about 30, 35 m.p.h. the area shaded and pink is under the tornado warning until 6:00 this evening. it will eventually move closer towards the district and could clip arlington into the district and eventually move into montgomery county and prince george's county over the next hour or so. we also have a tornado watch in effect for the areas shaded and yellow including the district and surrounding area and points south until 11:00 tonight. i am confident we will see this cancel out earlier than that. then the temperatures are cool off to the west. that is where the tornado watch is not an effect at this time. we will head back to the storm scan and show you, once again the track of the storms. as we move through this evening the latest, another track dale city until 5:40, that is when you will see the heaviest impact. lorton is about 5:51, moving towards newington and burke west springfield, north springfield, the mixing bowl, just about 6:00. that will eventually move towards franconia and annanda
