carmela dela rosa is accused of killing her two year-old granddaughter. jury deliberations will resume in a few hours. jummy olabanji has been following this story all week long. she has the latest. >> good morning. this morning the jury will continue to try to figure out whether or not to convict carmela dela rosa of first- degree murder, second-degree murder or not guilty. reason of insanity. yesterday was when the jury began deliberating. that was yesterday afternoon after hearing hours of closing arguments from the prosecution and defense. the prosecution knows the final witness took the stand yesterday, the doctor who testified he believes delaware -- carmela dela rosa suffers from a borderline personality disorder but that she knew right from wrong. her defense team has been trying to argue all week in favor of their insanity case. we should find out later on today whether or not their case is the one the jury believed. carmela dela rosa does face life in prison if she's convicted of first-degree murder. if abc 7 will be inside the courtroom today a

the prosecution claims that de la rosa is faking insanity. their psychologist said that the grandmother there thely threw -- deliberately threw the baby from the walkway and plotting it inside the mall. she indicated she was angry at everyone and the baby, she testified, she hated james and the baby was garnering all the attention and love. there was a certain resentment. they found no evidence of psychosis. that testimony contradicts the defense schools who, on today, testified de la rosa was legally insane. the defense attempted to discredit the prosecution's witness as a hired gun. he's only once found a defendant insane and in his book, inside the criminal mind, he wrote that all criminals are rationale and crime is never caused by mental ills. it was based on his examination of patients found criminally insane. all of those people fooled doctors, judges, and juries, the deputy public defender asked? stageinou replied, you bet. the schools go to the heart of the case. a series of doctors testified that de la rosa suffered from major depre
