now, let's get an update on traffic from julie wright. >> very busy right now in virginia. let's say good morning to the crew in sky fox. they are above this crash. it is the inner loop of the beltway before you reach route 7. that is where we had the accident activity. squeezing the right side of the road. so we do have three lanes to the left getting by. those delays are forming as you make your way north of 66. as you travel the west side of town, it is slow out of annandale to merrifield. it won't take long for that to become one long backup. inner loop of the beltway already slowing between 66 and route 7 with the accident activity squeezing the right side of the road. we'll take it back inside. we are hoping to send sky fox over to the scene of this accident along 15 as you guys guys travel south of luckett. at new valley church road we are getting reports of the activity that is shutting down 15 in each direction. it is way out there but again, that is going to impact your commute for you guys that typically use the point of rocks this morning. avoid that area until

here's julie wright with an update on traffic. julie. reporter: all right, tony. thank goodness the weather broke enough for sky fox to get up and about this morning. they've had a busy drive around town. checking out your drive along the bleej. no problems to report between montgomery county and fairfax. the beltway is moving smoothly in each direction with no problems reported. back outside and towards 66, accident number two of this morning's commute. this is going to be the inbound stretch of 66 approaching 28 in centreville, a lot of equipment, as you can clearly see on the scene of this wreck. only the right lane is able to get by. already traffic is stacking up as you guys travel inbound this morning, working your way from manassas, heading inbound towards centreville and back out towards the capitol beltway. eastbound 66 over an hour drive at this point, at business 234, the average speed now down to 22 miles per hour. on the other side of town you're going to find lanes open, but southbound 270 is gridlocked out of germantown. all this slow traffic slowin

lets he get to our traffic expert and julie wright. >> unfortunately, we have an accident investigation that is going to be with us until further notice. this is a live shot from the crew in sky fox southbound 270 at the exit for 118 in germantown. two left lanes are able to get by right now. it is also important to note that the exit ramp from southbound 270 to exit at is also closed. this will be a lengthy investigation. what does this mean for you? it means alit weretive routes such as 355 are going to carry a lot of bailout traffic and already are starting to build in volume. again, if you are traveling southbound on 270, the ramp to 118 and the right lane remain closed for this ongoing investigation. let me take it inside real quick so we can show you. southbound 270, the delays already backing up here in clarksburg. this is a good almost five-mile backup coming out of clarksburg levering 121 headed down toward the accident scene. we do have a couple of alternatives. the two-lane highway can't carry you at this time. if you are coming out of hyattstown, it is 109 to 28. i know it i

now, let's got more on this morning's rush hour traffic with julie wright. >> all right. we are still talking about the wires down. that is tying up your commute as you travel to and from lothian this morning. so again, there is a portion of route 2 that is blocked off each way at polling house road that. will affect your drive as you travel between harwood and lothian. coming from the south to the north he hadhood up towards annapolis and back in towards baltimore, you want it to bail out, use 255 over to muddy creek and that could save you some time. 301 is also an option for you. no problems to report along that stretch at this time. ime. other side of up to, inbound new york avenue, no trouble spots to report right now as you guys travel inbound leaving bladensburg headed out to northeast and into northwest washington. inbound 50 is quiet out of riverdale and cheverly headed in towards northeast. virginia northbound i-95, this is an easy ride so far. the volume increasing but no incidents to report leaving the prince william parkway headed for the occoquan. 395 is in

now let's go to julie wright with an update. >> the latest wreck has popped up on us as you travel on rollins avenue. the wreck occurred on the northbound side of the highway and we have fire and rescue and it's still here out of the camera range but the police are here trying to help direct traffic around. northbound that commute as you travel north of montrose road headed toward 28. definitely impacted here as you try to work your way north. southbound traffic i was able to get by. you will find if you travel southbound 270 lanes are open but it's definitely below speed out of germantown out toward the lane divide. a 45 minute commute. there outer loop of the boiltd slow from 95 college park headed around the exit for 270. no relief in sight. just heavy volume. we have delays if you are traveling the outer loop of the boil working your way north of route 40 at alintown road. this crash is at the two right lanes. it's on the northbound side headed in the direction of central avenue a lots of people asking me about the inner loop. what's going on out at oxen hill. the problem was an a
