specifically this is mcpherson square park. they're getting the last of the protesters off of this structure that they erected overnight against police orders. police have been telling them to take the structure down, to get off of this building. they're saying no. now police are going up with the cherry picker. for those who volunteer, they put them in a harness. for those who don't, they rope them, put them in the cherry picker in a bucket and take them down. there's one person still left. i want to tell you this, though. this is tape -- this is of one of the last people. this was a person who was waving a plag who refused earlier. yes. this is the person -- the other people they had before when the police came up in the cherry picker they said okay. they put the harness on and brought them down. this one person refused. they put a rope around him and got him down.

lots of rain out to the west, mcpherson square after police arrested dozens of occupy protesters. >> it was mostly peaceful when the whole thing started two months ago. this started all over a shed protesters were building this weekend. surae chinn joins us live with more on the mood this morning. how is it going? >> reporter: right now no clashes, no loud noises. you can see everyone mainly asleep and that makeshift shelter has been torn down since last night. things have been peaceful up into this point until they started building the shelter and police really clashed as you can see in this video. things really got out of hand. there was no permit. protesters were told to tear down the shelter within the hour. they refused. park police moved in on horseback. 15 people were initially arrested for crossing a police line. then another round of people were arrested. police had to bring in a cherry pick tore pluck them off the roof. one man relieved himself as hundreds of people watched. >> he exposed his genitals as he was urinating in the direction of the officers underneath him. >> r

encampment at mcpherson square. police made 62 arrests. as the demonstrations continue into the evening, they expect more. the demonstrators call it a day of action. action that disrupted downtown washington. they marched up one side of connecticut avenue and down the other been noon, chanting and spreading their message. when the demonstratored got to 16th and k street, they met up with our d.c. and people from all over participating in the effort called take back the capital. organizers said there were 1,000 people here in the street. >> we are here to send a message to these guys that we need jobs and we need them now. >> i'm part of a generation that grew up economically worse than my parents. i don't want that for them. >> reporter: between noon and 1:00, they blocked the intersection at 16th and k street. most of the crowd marched down k street. this group of 11 demonstrators, people who came from across the country, including two members of the clergy stood their ground on 16th and k despite police warnings to move. >> you will be a

several police cars were parked in a row on blocks all around mcpherson square. on l street, k street, and other streets nearby. we saw police officers parked and ready to go for several reasons. first of all, the demonstrators will be visiting a firm, and police officers are dispersed and prepared just in case. last month occupy d.c. organized a march across the bridge that was expected to cause a traffic nightmare but did not. the peaceful demonstration included hundreds marching during rush hour but had little to no traffic impact. but last sunday a demonstration resulted in 31 people being arrested after they built a shed in the middle of the park. it was a confrontational demonstration to date. and no telling what we can expect today. there's a schedule for what is supposed to happen. any minute now, we are expecting occupiers to go to a lobbying firm located here on k street, and then they will come back to k street, and also the mcpherson square area to have a party, and they are saying this party will resemble the same parties that are held between politi
