it's hard to tell when you take a live look at san jose. downtown san jose, mostly clear start. you can still see the stars overhead. let's take it to the radar and show you what's headed your way. cloud cover slowly but surely sliding the the south bay. most of the cloud cover north of redwood city. as you can see, 15, 20 minutes, mostly cloudy conditions through here. we have a little rainfall coming down in marla's neck of the woods. a little shower activity in santa rosa. right now that cell is sliding south of san francisco. watch out for maybe a little shower activity along the bay bridge over the course of the next ten minutes. low pressure slowly but surely trekking closeer and closer to the coast here. the actual area of low pressure has not yet moved onshore. what's going to happen is the storm track is going to take it way to our north. we might see a few stray showers pass through today. as we head through friday, that storm track comes deeper into the bay area. 37 in napa, 37 in livermore and everybody this morning is above freezing. 60 today in concord, about 61 in

the economic times here in san jose. but they are getting new in firefighters to help out in the front lines. along with the closure of this station. san jose had to lay off 49 firefighters. they were mostly new recruits. the department brought 22 of them back. the other firefighters found jobs elsewhere. now the department is able to hire more firefighters, nine today. the ceremony will begin at 3:00 at the training center. these are firefighters who transferred from other departments and had completed their modified economy. the new teams will be ready to hit the rigs and fight fires beginning on sunday. that means staffing levels will soon be back to what we had in san jose two years ago. some argued that's still not enough to meet the demands of a city the size of san jose. 18 more firefighters will go through a similar academy beginning in february. so thins are beginning to get back to normal. the hope is with attrition these firefighters will be able to stay on permanently. i'm damien trujillo, today in the bay. >
