police believe he is the suspect in the two home innovations in montgomery county andin bethesda and weeks and and is also responsible for home invasion in temple hills of prince george's county. he is facing several charges including armed robbery,, first and third degree sexual assault for his alleged involvement in three home invasions over four days. the latest case happened friday, january 13 in temple hills. in this case six people inside a home or tied up with the zip dies, the youngest person died of was 7 years old. thea a person was also sexually assaulted in that home invasion. as soon as police arrived on the scene it became apparent that this case was connected to the two others that happened the day prior -- in the days prior in wheaton and bethesda. >> the things that occurred in all three of these are the same in my opinion. in our case, sexual assault was part of it. he was armed. he found six people in the house -- boundf six people. there were things he took out of the residence. it got worse from one to the next to the next. >> authorities are telling us this morn

. >>> two people are hurt after a car hit them in bethesda. they were on wisconsin avenue near west cedar lane and it happened around 6:00. the driver stopped and there is no charges against the person. both victims are expected to recover. >>> the news edge following a big story out of bethesda. the man forced his way into a home this morning where he tied up the home owner and her teenage son and sexually assaulted the housekeeper. the crime that might be connected to a similar robbery in wheat error erroron. the police released -- wheaton. the police released a credit card that was taken during today's home invasion. paul wagner has more. >> reporter: montgomery county police say the cases that they believe are connected took place here on barton road in bethesda this morning and just across from nih, off of cedar lane. and a robbery that took place in wheaton yesterday morning on mcmann road. there are similarity. it was a lone gunman. he took the vehicles belonging to the home owner and the housekeeper here on the road and took deb it car

. >> the most recent if was yesterday in bethesda. if a suspect sexually assaulted one woman after tying up a mother and teenage son. jummy olabanji has been following this story and joins us from police headquarters with the latest on the investigation and reaction from the neighborhood on edge this morning. good morning. >> good morning. they are on edge. many neighbors making sure their doors are locked. they are looking behind before walking up to their doors. the case in wheaton two days ago and the case in bethesda yesterday are believed to be connected. a woman by herself approached by a gunman and then robbed. in yesterday's case a woman was sexually assaulted. police captured an image of the man they believe is behind both of these cases. police told somebody out there knows him and will turn him in. we have that picture. this is the man and accounted detectives are looking for. if this image was caught after he used a credit card stolen yesterday during the home invasion independence and. >> >> this is a very peaceful quiet

on new year's day, the suv slammed into a tree at jones bridge road in bethesda. news 4's darcy spencer has more on the investigation. >> reporter: a man and a woman died when a chevy trailblazer they were riding in crashed on jones bridge road in bethesda around 3:00 thursday morning. nate lucas was friends with both of the victims. news 4 is not identifying them until police release their names. >> he was definitely my closest acquaintance. like we always used to spend time over at each other's houses. she was cool. she was cool, like a little sister to me. >> reporter: montgomery county police say the suv was traveling west on jones bridge road approaching lancaster drive when the driver lost control. the two victims who died were front and backseat passengers. three men survived, including the 22-year-old driver. >> for reasons still under investigation, they hopped a curb, went through the chain link fence, and came to rest against a tree. >> reporter: thomas quinn says he came to the scene to pay his respects. he says he was friends with the male passenger w

a bethesda mother is charged with leaving her child unattended. police say theling girl was alone in an apartment off rock for of the drive. the 6-year-old apparently tried to cook something minister toaster oven but it began smoking and the large went off. a neighbor called 911 and found the girl wandering in the hallway. >>> a warning for kids and their parent near claremont elementary school in franconia, virginia. there have been five incidents of a man any red pickup truck staring at, waving and and calling out to children near that school. the first time was back on december 19th. the latest just this past tuesday. no children have been hurt or even touched in any of these incidents. the man is said to have short black hair and a goatee and the december incident, he also wore a red nationals baseball cap and several gold chains. the truck is red with scratches, dents and rust on it. call police if you have seen it. >>> developing this morning in italy, drivers are resuming their search for two dozen people still missing from that damaged cru

woman convicted of murdering a johns hopkins business school student at lululemon clothing store in bethesda will learn her punishment later today. good morning andy yeah. >> reporter: good morning don good morning everyone. brittany norwood's family made a last minute plea for mercy claiming she deserves a second chance. wjz obtained that he patience gnat letters written by family and family of brittany norwood the 29-year-old was convicted in march of murdering her coworker 30-year-old jana murray inside the lululemon clothing shop inside bethesda where the two worked. norwood attacked mush ray when she was confronted -- murray when she was confronted about stealing merchandise, norwood created an elaborate lie to cover up the crime saying they were attacked by two men but evidence showed murray endured 331 stabbings, cuttings, beating and choking wounds before she died. it took a jury just one hour to find her guilty of first degree murder. bringing justice for jana murray's family. >> i know the trauma, our family has been through, i want no other family to go through this. >> her father
