i was born in san francisco, moved to the peninsula, raised my family there, moved back to san francisco eight years ago. my day job, in addition to civic activities, i am an angel investors. since 1994, i have invested over 600 companies. it is very interesting to see -- and most of these companies are in the bay area. there are about 200 companies that are active today. of those 200 companies, most of which in the bay area, over 52% of our portfolio in sv angel are in san francisco today. what is significant is, in 2005, 75% of our portfolio was in silicon valley, i the south of san francisco. so there is definitely undisputed the migration of tech companies to san francisco, and we want to support that. some of the company that i am an investor in that will lead the charge in san francisco, twitter, ising guy, jawbone, eventbrite, trulia, and google. approval has a large office in san francisco. we think the tech community in san francisco needs to finally get active. ed lee, the minute he stepped into office, the two significant things for the tech community, he got twitter to stay i

the number of tech companies in san francisco has doubled, and now 50% of our pulp folio is in san francisco. -- flip-flopped. social media and community websites, it is no coincidence. they have to be in cities with lots of people. mayor lee understands what the tech sector can do to help. he has a 17-point plan. probably a third of that has to do with job creation. mark pincus and zynga will be a key partner on that initiative. zynga will be the lead tech company on the jobs initiative. we have already started work on that. we know there is a skills gap, and an experience gap with the implied base in san francisco, but with training, we can fill those gaps and employ more san franciscans in san francisco. all of our member companies will get their h.r. departments involved and analyze their hiring for the next year, give that to the zynga jobs team, we will aggregate those, and develop programs to employ and educate the job force to fill those positions. san francisco already has a great web site, hiresf, it's akin to monster.com, and the tech community will be going to the website to try

hammer, if you will, san francisco chamber of commerce. there have been just innumerable ones. but some of the ledger is are compelling, and i want to read just a few comments from some people, because i think they reflect this extraordinary man. from john pritzgber, as a sentencing scheme of 30 plus years, i have not known one person who was more of a booster of san francisco as warren. his rap -- love for the city manifest itself in obvious and even more not so obvious ways. from the executive director of san francisco child abuse prevention center, i simply cannot think of a more worthy individual in our community to honor with this renaming then warren hellman. has been a hero to thousands of children and families at san francisco, and the championing of our public schools in countless ways to advocating for a vital school bonds and other funding measures creating opportunities for hundreds of children. i would guess thousands myself. to enjoy bluegrass music at the annual festival. above all, warren has always been there for children

and the great city and county of san francisco. but first, i just wanted to recognize because it's utterly appropriate, susan, come on up here. these two very talented artistic directors that have done so much and so well. we just -- we wanted to thank them for all their hard work. and all their sacrifice. and all their -- the commitment they have made to work with all of you. and to be here with you. not just on moments like this. and moments like tuesday. but those quiet moments, practice stress and frustration and anxiety, where ian and susan were there, just keeping your spirits up and enlivanning your senses and making you believe you can do more and better. and reminding you what it's all about. and that is working together across your differences and uniting a common goal. and that's really the spirit of what a chorus is all about, isn't it? it's the sum of its parts. and there's something special in that as well. so it's in that stead and that spirit and that light that we have two certificates of honor. one recognizing our

in san francisco, there are two plants, the san francisco health plan managing care for approximately three-quarters of approximately all medi-cal, and another covers the remaining. once the beneficiary chooses a plan, they then choose a provider network. both health plans offer several provider networks to choose from. each provider network is composed of a primary care provider, which could be a community clinic or a physician group, and its affiliated hospital partner. these are one-to-one partnerships established between the parties and with the health plan. this team of providers assumes an ongoing responsibility to provide all the covered health- care services that a member needs in exchange on the fee per month regardless of how frequently they use the services. to meet the needs of these 30,000 new individuals that will be eligible for medi-cal in 2014, san francisco will mean a number of providers who are willing to participate. that includes the background portion of my presentation, and now i will go on to the key provisions of a proposed agreement. this will reduce the nee
