maryland governor mar ten o'malley is call -- martin o'malley is calling lawmakers back to annapolis. 9news now's scott broom was at the state house for the morning's announcement and on the phone now with more information. what can you tell us scott? >> reporter: j. c, he has called auspicious of the legislature -- a special session of the legislature for august 9th to resolve once and for all the thorniness of expanded gambling in maryland in particular the relentless push to put a vegas style resort at national harbor at the foot of the wilson bridge in prince george's county. the calling of a special session is a signal there's agreement among the big players on provisions of a bill that would expand gambling in maryland to allow a casino in prince george's county and to allow table games and come up with a complex fax formula that would ensure the casinos that are already built will not suffer financially. the hurry to get this done in the heat of the summer is this because this boils down to the need to put this on the ballot in november for a statewide referendum. they approved

we begin in annapolis where crews are trying to figure out what led to a house fire leaving one woman said. sheldon dutes is live with more. what can you tell us? >> firefighters think it may have started in the kitchen door back bedroom of the home. it is located on the bay community in anne arundel land happened this morning. they saw the flames and smoke coming through the roof. while the firefighters were searching the home, they found the body of a woman inside. they say she died from her injuries and was pronounced dead at the screen. -- at the scene. they had to travel way to get water to help stop the fire. >> this is extremely stressful which is why we bring in extra personnel to compensate. >> this is the second fatal fire in anne arundel. the results of the fire last week, they went door-to-door passing out smoke alarms and checking them in the home. but they do not think the smoke alarms were an issue in this most recent fire. >> two firefighters issue -- work injured at this blaze of started in a three-story apartment building. part of the building actually collapsed whil
