i'm barbara harrison. we begin today with a troubling murder of a teenage girl who is dead this morning. inside her own home in prince george's county. we're learning new information about the 17-year-old high school student. the shooting happened overnight in ketterling. tracee wilkins is live on the scene with new details. tracee? >> good morning, barbara. this is a troubling shooting and more questions than answers this morning. prince george's county police are just beginning their investigation trying to figure out what led to this shooting but both people who live in this community and also those who went to school with this young girl are trying to figure out why something like this would happen to a girl like her. just after 10:00 last night, prince george's county police were called to the 100 block for the report of gunshots. once in the home, they found 17-year-old amber stanley shot and killed inside her bedroom. police say she was actually in her bed at the time. detectives are investigating t

the cost of modern family may make an appearance along with diane sawyer and barbara walters. >>> sometimes bad things happen in nice neighborhoods that's the tough lesson who dozen neighbors are learning. after the cars were broken in to. don harrison explains why some feel they were targeted. >> reporter: more than 20 neighbors in this surrein community, woke to the uncomfortable feeling realizing their cars were broken in to. police say two dozen cars were targeted wednesday in this community. most were left unlocked. >> new community, let's see what we can get. >> reporter: that's what tailor believes the thieves were thinking when they broke in to the cars by her house. tailor made sure her vehicles were secure at night. >> i keep my cars and locked and don't keep anything of value. anything i have of value is locked in the glove compartment. >> it's unnerving to think while you are sleeping somebody is trying to break in. >> reporter: a lot of police officers live in the community, which surprises her the break ins would happen. >> you would think that would be a dee ter represent. >>
