at about 10:00 this morning cal ripken, jr. will address reporters about his mother's abduction and return. he's also going to appear on "good morning america" later this morning, about 7:30 to talk about this case as well. he's trying to put pressure to try to find this suspect and bring this person to justice. basically police still do not have the suspect in custody. on july 24th, violet rip dr. parikh ken was found and abducted from her hartford county home if her car for 12 hours by an unidentified man and returned home. police released a surveillance video and sketch of the suspect on tuesday. it was taken the same day that she was kidnapped. it shows the tall man walking in and out of a store. >> clearly the abductor did not have his heart in this. he took a lot of risk, doesn't look like he got much out of it other than perhaps inflicting fear on the ripken family for a number of hours. >>reporter: now, aberdeen police have not offered a motive in this case, but they are offering a $2000 reward for any information leadi

today cal ripken, jr. will talk about this and he's doing it first here on abc 2. sheree johnson has more on what's happening. >>reporter: we are live here at camden yard where at 10:00 this morning cal ripken, jr. will address reporters about his mother's recent abduction and return and then at 7:30 this morning, he'll also appear on "good morning america" also to talk about this case. he's basically trying to put pressure, trying to find this suspect. he's encouraging people, if you know anything, if you saw anything to contact local authorities. right now police still don't have a suspect in custody. on july 24th, violet ripken was bound and abducted from her hartford county home for about 12 hours in her car by an unidentified man and then returned home. police released the surveillance video and sketch of the suspect on tuesday. it was taken the same day she was kidnapped. it shows a tall man walking in and out of a store and aberdeen police say this is a very active investigation. they've not offered information about a motive just yet. there is a $2000 rewar

and as you all know, cal trans covers the entire state of california. and in order to better manage that, we have broken down the department into 12 districts just like the city has different districts. that helps us in being closer to the community. helps us in increasing the utilization of the small businesses, disadvantage businesses and disabled enterprise businesses. the department manages 50,000 lane miles of highway, 22,000 employees statewide. my operation here in district 4, it covers the nine bay area counties. as you can see in the map. which is about 7,000 lane miles of highway. we have the toll bridges that we operate. we have just under 4,000 employees. our budgets, our capital program ongoing at the present time with 155 contracts, it's about 4.6 billion. so there's a lot of work that is going on, and a lot of that is due to the toll bridge program. half of that is the repair of the various toll bridges that we have, and of course the biggest project, one of the largest public works projects in the nation is the span of the bay bridge tha
