dan hellie has a look at two local swimmers in london. >> reporter: despite all the medals they are still debating whether michael phelps is the greatest olympian of all time. he now has 19 total medals. he raced the 4x200 freestyle relay and got a gold but got help from a local kid, matt mclean from sterling swam the second leg of the preliminary race setting them up for success in the finals. he didn't get to take part in the medals ceremony. but he did get a gold medal. >> it was awesome. i knew my teammates would take care of it to. be on the relay in the morning was an honor. and did what i could to help the team out. >>> another fresh-faced phenom, kat katie lidecki. she is going to race in the prelims of the 800 meter freestyle tomorrow morning along with kate zeigler. we caught up with ledeki's mom. >> we don't have any expectations for her at this meet. we want her to swim well. if she makes finals we'll be thrilled. we'll have another event we can go and see her swim. she loves the sport. she loves every big meet that she gets to swim in. she loves the competition. >> mary, jen

dan hellie is joining us live from london with more on these local athletes. hi, dan. >> eun, how are you doing? it would be unbelievable if julie zetlin would achieve her lifelong tredream. her goal, her entire life is just to make the olympics. winning a medal would be icing on the cake for her. julie zetlin, the only rhythmic gymnast in the games this year. and she's the first american rhythmic gymnast to compete in the olympics since 2004. so just being here is a feat in itself. i caught up with julie yesterday just outside wembley arena where the gymnastics competition will take place. zetlin moved out of the olympic village and into a hotel closer to the venue to prepare for competition which begins tomorrow. >> yeah, it's pretty incredible. you know, today i had my first podium training which is pretty much like a dress rehearsal. you're out on the competition carpet. it was just like, whoa, lights, camera, action. this is the olympics here. the lights are really bright. the arena was huge. i was like wandering and looking around, where are my parents g
