in this hour of "lockup," we'll take you inside the main jail system in miami, officially known as miami-dade corrections. miami's gleaming skyline towers over sun-drenched beaches and waterways, punctuated with luxury cruise ships. it's no wonder that this is a popular vacation spot. but miami is also a hotbed of illicit drug activity that generates a constant flow of men and women into what has become the sixth largest jail in america. miami-dade corrections is made up of five separate facilities located throughout the city. housing nearly 7,000 inmates. every year, approximately 100,000 men and women are processed into miami-dade. many of them arrive here at the main jail, also known as the pretrial detention center. >> the main jail is considered the hub because it's right next to the court building. and all of the inmates that go to court are staged at the pretrial detention center where we have a bridge that connects with the courthouse. >> listen up, listen up! >> listen up for your name. >> built in 1959, the detention center is the oldest of the miami-dade facilities and also the bus
