where's the old mike? >> i don't know. since he moved to l.a., he's spending more time pumping gas, i suppose. what do you think of the trade, guys? >> he's an oil man. >> listen, mike. you guys laid it out. carter laid out the fundamentals, and like you said, you started off with i don't recommend people buying stocks up at 60% in a short period of time. if you want to express the view that way and lay out volatility is cheap, this is a great way to do it, but, remember, you need a big move to make money on this trade or otherwise you just own this call that's decaying for the next few months. >> that's right. now, mike is buying the call that has been pounded on by covered call sellers. relatively it's just about the cheapest call out there. so from that point of view it makes sense. i would look at it differently. if you think the stock's going higher or sideways, i would sell a put spread and just collect some of this money. you know, mike lays out a case for the stock being cheap, and selling put spreads is a great wa

mike, what about the fundamentals on this stock? >> nice sweater there, carter. -- >> not suited up today. president carter was wearing a sweater when he was dealing with the oil crisis. looking at fundamentals in u.p.s. a couple things to pay attention to. first of all, some of the other transports, federal express, results were mixed. basically, we have been seeing not overly optimistic signs from the transports. diesel demand is down and demand for class-a trucks is down. that suggests the transportation sector is weak. the other thing is, this stock is trading a small premium to the broad market. that would be fine if it was growing at double digit rates. but it isn't. we are talking about a stock probably to see top line growth of about 2%. basically, the story is, going into earnings i'm bearish. i think i'm going to buy put. >> that does sound very bearish so mike is buying a put. this is the simplest trade you can do. let's open the play book to see how it works. for those new to the show. when you buy a put you want the sto

your next question comes from ubs. >> hi, mike. congratulations. >> thank you very much. >> you are clearly very successful in the wind down of assets that started when you took over holdings. when you take a look at s.a.p. assets and lcl assets, the decline rate quarter over quarter has slowed here in 2012. do you think there's something that can be done to reverse that, and after you moved on from running holdings, did the strategy to remove assets change at all? >> it didn't. we've left holdings in extremely good hands with mark mason and the team. i think as you know, mark and i worked together for the entire three years when i oversaw the business. i think part of it is that as we look at the remaining asset it is a are in there, we continue to look at the economics behind those assets, and we continue to take advantage of the markets when they offer the right opportunities to sell. i think some of those assets in the portfolio today, we think in this environment, based on current market prices, are better to continue to hold
