mike, what's your view? >> the other term we can throw this potpourri of buzz words in is carl icahn, an activist investor. >> i think if you had to take a look at the fundamentals of this company it will be hard to make bullish case here. we're talking about a company trading at 100 times earnings, a bullish choice here. forecasting to go about 12% year to year. what does carl see in the company's future. he's obviously, hoping as he often does could be an amazon. i love the company service. i don't like it's valuation. but amazon stock is a currency where they can acquire netflix. there's one or two companies in the world that could be true, that you can use your stock. that combined with the disney deal that they've forged here, i think that obviously created a little buoyancy in the stock. i talked to people and a lot of people think it is going to fill the gap to 100. if you are going to play along with that then that is fine. valuation is probably not the most compelling reason. >> mike is selling a pu

mike is joining carter. he's bearish. >> mike is going to sell a call spread tonight. usually we buy them. let's open the play book and see how the structure looks. it's a bearish strategy where you sell one call and then to define your risk you buy a higher strike call of the same expiration. in the structure, you want the stock below the short strike by expiration. that is where you make the most money. mike, what's the trade? >> i was looking at the january 150-155 call spread. i was going to sell the 150s and buy the 155s against it. paying 175. that's a net credit to me of about $2. that is about 40% of the distance between the strikes which is a sweet spot for selling those at the money or near at the money call spreads. the idea here is tha i get to collect the $2 and stand still and i would be risking $3 if i rode this trade to expiration and it went through the higher strike. the thing is though, if the stock does rally it is not likely to go to the full value of that strike immediately. i will have an opportunity to trade around it even if i am wrong. >> i wi

you heard mike say. we could be getting a dusting this morning at around 9:00 this morning, so towards the tail end of the commute it could get a little messier. we actually saw some contractors across the street over at the chipolte throwing out some salt on the sidewalk. so if you're out making returns today, getting shopping done, it might be -- you might be dealing with some slick sidewalks. so you want to be careful. it's going to be similar to what we saw on christmas eve. we could get up to an inch, and then it all changing over to rain. that means later on this afternoon and tonight's commute things could get messier. and with a lot of people heading back home after christmas, this wintery mix could pose a big problem, especially if you're traveling through western maryland which could get up to a foot of snow, and then an ice storm. so, again, we should be okay for the morning commute. we could see that snow coming in at around 9:00 this morning and then changing over to rain. so the bigger prob

mike nevin. mike was a very good friend of mine, someone who i looked up to a great deal, someone who i really saw as a role model in this job. prior to entering politics, mike was a 27 year member of the san francisco police departmenth9f rising to the level of inspector. he then in his adopted home of daly city joined the daly city city council, served there for 10 years serving as mayor for two years. he then stepped up to the san matillo county board of supervisors and served on that board for 12 years. in his collective 10 year at both daly city city council and county board of supervisors he served on a variety of regional agencies, mtc, caltrain, bay area management district you name it, he probably served on it. what i got to know him well on was transportation issues. when i had the pleasure of serving at the caltran board where supervisor cohen is now, you
