. -- adele was a previous winner. this is the 10th year the awards had taken place. some of the biggest selling artists in the world have been nominated and actually missed out on the top prize over the years. has the bbc got it right this time? >> i had been aware of this group for a long time, but they were not in my top three. i had chosen laura and two other groups. haim is using pop music and r&b. whether they will sell 25 million copies like adele has, i'm not sure. >> you have a say in deciding your favorite artists. but is it the fact the bbc names a lesser-known artists that gives them a platform? so many of the people they pick out turn out to be huge sellers. >> it does not do them any harm normally. they have chosen some great winners in the past, whether it is adele or 50 cent, who was the first winner. one year there was an artist who beat lady gaga and mumford & sons all in the same year. and where she now? >> the pain of being put on the pedestal and not making it. what are your top three special? >> laura is my favorite artists who i saw live last ye

adele was loved. i didn't meet a person who didn't love adele hall. everyone saw her as a special person. no doubt especially she was loved by her family. she was known by a saying, "leave the dishes in the sink and play with your kids." and her family benefited from that, that kind of philosophy, her wholehearted dedication to each of them. she was married to her husband don for nearly 60 years and was a devoted wife and a loving mother to their three children. i ask the senate to join me today in extending our heartfelt sympathies to her husband don, her sons done daled and david, and her daughter margaret and her nine grandchildren. she was loved by them deale -- s loved by them dearly and she will be great policedment adele once said that volunteerism is -- quote -- "belief in love." and her love will be forever remembered by the lives she changed for the better. if your value if life is whether or not you made a difference while you were here, adele hall lived that life and contributed so greatly to others. god bless her for her life and let her

he is trying to get his case transferred from adel to juvenile court. prosecutors are using his own worst to show he planned an attack and prove to reject -- toa judge in should be in any adult venue. the defense protested to recorded phone conversations in which gladden talked about the point of shooting, which seriously wounded a special needs child. the defense claimed it was not fair and statements would be taken out of context. the judge allowed it and gladden shows detectives how people the shotgun, pointed it at students, and pull the trigger. he told officers he carried 21 bullets saying he figured if i was going to do it, might as well to it a lot. he wanted to get as many as he could and then kill himself. he claimed he had no agenda. he had not been bullied. he wanted to make a statement. he used an expletive saying the world was a mess oed up place. prosecutors also played phone conversations and visits involving gladden. the conversations were monitored by detectives. in one recording appears to be gladden saying "i made myself an individua
