"pray for boston"" hashtag exploded on line. and a former member of new kids on the block posted this picture near the end and shortly after he found out about the bombing, he tweeted, "i don't know what to say. i feel for everybody involved with the marathon and. he says his family's ok. google posted a page where family members and friends could put your name on a list and people could search for you to see if you were safe. a lot of people asking what they can do to help. the american red cross is overwhelmed with people donating blood. at one point they had to say they had enough for everyone involved with the tragedy. and many times when this happens we s

john gonzalez, an astonishing teacher at the freshman academy and i would want to see what was happening the port of entry class in high school. so i didn't spend time in the gifted and talented program. so let me answer your question in generalities. kids respond to exit haitians and what it is the brightest kids can do is something other kids can get excited about. one of the sad consequences on reading and not is the further down the academic ladder you kids, the more chilling of reading and not there is. the more joyless the occasion is. it shot or about washington school in the winter and spring and the book is called where fun comes to die and be reborn. it's not a very joyful time. that school has just come to life totally. yes indeed, the kind of creativity that you can nurture within the school, if woodrow wilson was an incubator for new curricular ideas that can spread elsewhere, that is great because it's a school that represents the highest expectations and there's no reason that can't be more broadly applied. my experience and whether you're teaching preschoolers or grad stu

john, diana. >> abc's marci gonzalez, reporting live from boston this morning. thank you. >>> well so many of those hurt in the bomb blast have suffered what are cat gorized as traumatic injuries. the majority of injuries caused by shrapnel hitting victim's lowers body. last night we spoke to a doctor here in new york city with years of trauma experience. >> one of the thing that all hospitals of that size in particular have in place is a disaster plan the we practice these a few times of year, do it here in new york at least every six months. though plans have in place mock exercises. we have put our resources into play. we have fake patients come into the hospital. so, having run those exercises repeatly gives you some preparation. this is completely unexpected. no matter how good your plan is, you will be overwhelmed. you are going to be dealing with a huge volume of patients with a wide spectrum of injuries not an easy thing to handle. i have to admit what tie have seen, an amazing job, from a blast, can cause severe burns, an injury that takes a long time t
