tara moriarty is live with more. >> reporter: good morning. well, dozens of families may have wondered what was going on when they heard the flash bang ben grades. they were -- grenades. they were serving 16 warrants. authorities mostly targeted homes in oakland and they made several arrests. they were secretive about why they were conducting the raids but we know now they are after guns and weapons. we saw fbi agents in tactical gear at 14th avenue and east 22nd street. another raid happened at 8th and adelaide streets. they were focusedden 0 the acorn apartment complex. law enforcement says the warrants are a result of criminal investigation and several arrests were made. the operation ended at 1:00 this morning. no one was hurt. police say they did not have to use, sessive force. later this -- excessive force. lateert this morning, the oakland police department will be releasing more details. we're live in oakland, tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. >>> in oakland, police are investigating a shooting reported around 3:00. the

ktvu's tara moriarty has been on this since 4:30 this morning. she's back now with the new information just released by antioch police in the past hour. >> reporter: well, within the past half-hour, the victim's pastor show under here. he's going -- showed up here. and he's comforting some of the children inside the home. you can imagine how traumatized they were. right behind me is the home  where they say that a 23-year- old man broke down the door, part of the lock and bolts were ripped right out of the doorframe. police say jimmy bills of antioch shot his ex, a 22-year- old and her 46-year-old mother, then turned the gun on himself. he died at the scene at the home on the 2500 block of yorkshire drive. this all unfolded at 10:45 last night. witnesses say the victims were airlifted to the hospital suffering nonlife-threatening injuries. the mother was reportedly shot in the stomach, the daughter in the leg. she called 911, then ran next door for help and neighbors say they are simply stunned. >> yeah. we know them very well. really shocking
