let's ask mike nicco. >> better part of today. that's a good question. let me show you what's going on in our hilltops, altamont pass, 24, the oakland hills, gusting to 30, same thing at alyce peak, knoxville creek 43. most of our lower elevations are feeling winds around 20 to 25 miles per hour. you're going to find a lot of debris on the roads when you're riding around this morning. trees, tree limbs, twigs, all that stuff, from such a long dry season that weakened part of the tree giving way to these winds. our fastest winds in the north bay mountains and diablo range through 3:00 this afternoon. if you have evening plans the winds will start to relax. before then they will be out of the east to northeast at 20 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 keeping the fire danger in our forecast for areas above 1,000 feet and that's until 6:00 tomorrow morning. we'll take a look at your temperatures because a warming trend is also on the way in your forecast. first a check of traffic. >> we certainly have high wind advisories issued by the chp as well. as

mike nicco will tell us if that is a meteorology term? >> today, it works. good morning, everyone. hard to get up this morning. it is damp. it is cool. the sun is struggling to come out. you can see it behind me. this are breaks developing. we have flight arrival delays of an hour and a half. we are tracking the visibility at live doppler 7 hd and the north bay has improved considerably. it is unlimited in napa and novato. east bay valley never had problem. san jose is increasing. san carlos is 2.5. oakland is the thickest with a mile visibility. the surface is good but at 1,800' the temperatures are 20 degrees warmer than under the fog so when thing for breaks it will warm rapidly. you can see the main storm track to the north, west, motor and east and the high pressure is dominating the storm. we have a sea breeze, though, and it is moist. that is undercutting that and why we have the fog this morning. you can see the temperature still at 49 in santa rosa and 50's until mountain view at 61. low-to-mid 60's in the east bay valley with sunshine the longest. this is how it looks in

mike nicco will keep us updated on the chilly morning forecast. >> no matter where you are standing, all upper 40's and low 50's. it is cool. maybe not as cool as last week with clear conditions when we had 30's inland. you can see it is dry this morning. you are not having to wait in wet weather. if you are headed to san francisco, forest hill is 74 and downtown is 49, and everyone else is 50. portrero hill is 54. richmond is 50 and san lenadro, at 51 and waiting for the bus in pleasanton it is 44 degrees and 46 in american canyons and 52 in bemont and palo alto and santa clara. as we look from our roof cameras over the bay, we will have the clouds peel back to the coast at noon and they will stay stubborn. slow cooling trend all week but the wet weather will stay over the ocean. the cloud cover shows it is increasing and never makes a push into the east bay valley but covering everyone else dug -- during the morning. by noon it is back to the coast and holes will develop in the afternoon. we will check out the temperatures and we talked about how it will be cooler-than-average beca

we will check with mike nicco. we are checking, first, with leyla gulen with a problem on i-80. >> the problem is easing up shortly as we look at our maps we have this backup remaining because of an early crash involving five vehicles coming away from the hoffman split down to 13 miles per hour. from emeryville camera to the east shore freeway, we still have a few flares blocking a lane but c.h.p. and the cars have been moved off the freeway so traffic now can slow. they are still trying to drive around the flares. the frontage road is looking heavy right now because it is being used as an alternate. there is a sea of headlights through berkeley to emeryville at five miles for the backup. it is cold out there. mike? >> it is cold. we have fog, as well. santa rosa is three miles visibility and napa is a mile and three quarters. this is different than summertime hall pause it -- summertime fog because it is hugging the ground. that is why it is dangerous. >> as far as temperatures, coming into the city, san francisco
