according the the atlanta journal constitution, the deputy chief operating officer for the city of atlanta told the braves during the meeting to negotiate a new stadium lease. it's not as if you could move anywhere. that encounter, which city officials deny, we're told is what prompted the outreach to nearby cobb county. while most teams are building stadiums inside city limits, they're choosing a predominantly white suburb over the city. they said the solution is all about moving cars in and around cobb from surrounding counties from the north and east where most braves fans travel and not moving people into cobb from rail by atlanta. catch his drift. guess what people in and around cobb county? here's where your tax dollars are going to go. the new ballpark will cost a total of $672 million. the atlanta braves will be responsible for $372 million. all the residents of cobb county will be responsible for $300 million plus interest, which is a hefty chunk of change for a city with an $86 million budget deficit that will reportedly lead to the loss of 182 teachers. like i said, the best hus

if you're starting out of atlanta or passing through atlanta today, then the news is pretty good. take a look at the arrival and departure board. and for the most part the flights are on time. i will point out, that we've been starting to see a little bit of delay creep in. not huge. but you are seeing that at least on several dozen flights maybe delays of 20 minutes, maybe up to 30 minutes. international flights are delayed longer. it's primarily a rain event that they're suffering down here. not the ice and snow that some had feared. i talked to the general manager of the airport just a short while ago and this is his tame on things now. >> actually things are looking very good for us. we're seeing that the traffic is -- we did our weekly analysis. and we expect through monday going through next monday 1.8 million. and tomorrow morning is looking like there could be more rain but the temperatures are supposed to be staying higher. it could drop earlier in the evening but in the morning it can be higher. we have our team on standby. >> reporter: we should point out that there are

we're 310 feet below grade, deep under atlanta in hard rock. in the downtown area of atlanta, the sewer system and the stormwater system are combined and there are overflows during storm events, and so the purpose of this system is to relieve that flow, take it into the tunnel, transport it to a brand-new treatment plant, clean up the chattahoochee river. narrator: instead of the combined sewage overflowing into the river, it will flow into this tunnel that acts as a storage tank. the water will then slowly empty into the new plant for treatment before it's released back into the river. man: the system in total is about 8 1/2 miles, 27 feet in diameter. most of the time it will be dry. the only time it will fill is when the sewer system is overwhelmed by the storm. it is a massive project. our budget was $210 million. we've worked about a million and a half man-hours. hunter: it is an incredible amount of work. our capital program right now is $3.9 billion. over a period of less than 10 years. franklin: so it's very expensive. the bottom line i

near atlanta, you will get misery. that's what we have right here. there's the low traveling to the north. i-95 stays wet. but buffalo, rochester, back toward pittsburgh, even to ohio, a lot of snow coming down, at least six inches of snow. some of it changing over to mist and drizzle for awhile but after sunset, it's almost right now, that's when the roadways are going to refreeze. i know the sun wasn't very strong today because it was behind clouds but there's enough heat hitting the ground that the ground was warm. the ground was 34. when the sun goes away, the ground goes to 31 and all the bridges freeze first and all the roads freeze next, and travel tonight is going to get a whole lot worse than it was today. that wind for tomorrow will cause airport delays in at least three to four hours across the major metro airports of the northeast. boston, new york and laguardia, so on and so on and so on. brand new delays just out of new york right now. renee marsh has more on that. >> so grandma ought to be ready for a fe
