macneill. they're expected to testify that dr. macneill said that he was glad his wife was dead. jenna? jenna: alicia, thank you. jon: let's talk about this with our legal panel, criminal defense attorney john man orwellian along with rebecca rose woodland. there was also testimony from a former alleged mistress, anna osborn walthal who said that about two years before his wife died dr. macneill said, quote: there's something you can give someone that's not detectable that causes them to have a heart attack. two years later, lo and behold, his wife is dead. rebecca, it's an awful lot of circumstantial evidence, but is it enough to convict? >> what we're looking at here, jon, is evidence the prosecution is putting on that will go to motive. so what the prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this man committed murder. murder is the intentional killing with a motive. so the prosecution's putting these people on, person after person, methodically to show the motive. not only did he have a mistress prior to the mistress that came into the home, today claim weeks after

macneill maintains he is innocent. but one of his former inmates say he approached macneill, after finding a magazine article about his wife in the prison library. >> i said, doc, they say you murdered your wife. he was like, i didn't murder my wife. if i did, they don't have any evidence. >> he just mentioned that they couldn't prove it. that medication she was taking, given him, prescribed. >> did he say whether he did or didn't kill her? >> he just said, they can't prove it was me. >> reporter: all of the inmates said macneill told them he didn't kill his wife, two said he used derogatory words to describe her. >> i said, man, they told me that you killed your wife. and he said, if they could prove that, do you think i'd be sitting here talking with you? so, i said, what did you do? he said, [ bleep ]. >> he referred to her as a [ bleep ]? >> yes, sir. >> okay. >> reporter: the jury is expected to hear from one more fellow inmate today. and prosecutors will wrap up their case today or tomorrow. and that's when the d

macneil. if we remember he came out and told coworkers that his wife fell in the tub that makes absolutely no sense because it contradicts what was found on the crime scene. a person just doesn't fall in a tub, face up, with all their clothing on. if this was an accident, she would have been bent over the side. she would have had bruising, something consistent with a fall. if he would have kept his mouth shut and not said anything, that's right there would have been a good defense. because he did, i think they're going to lose. harris: brian, i want to push in with that. you think there is another reason telling they might lose, all inmates from the time the doctor spent 21 months in a federal prison down in texas because of fraud. these inmates he talked with, not a good sign they keep calling them to the stand. why not? >> well, here's the thing with jailhouse snitches. you know when i was a prosecutor i hated working with these types of witnesses because they have got credibility problems.
