if we go up to mount tam the winds are only gusting up to 7 miles an hour at the moment. but that's where the mobile weather is right now. later tonight though, those winds will be picking up and the latest winds from there show gusts from just three to seven miles an hour. around parts of the other -- in fact, right in downtown san francisco, we have gusts to 22 miles an hour. where this is really going to be a factor the higher up you go, the stronger the winds are going to be and that's nowhere more apparent than up in the sierra. cambi brown is there where wind gusts are expected to be as high as 80 miles an hour tonight. >> reporter: conditions right now at donner summit not terrible. in fact, take a look. we're looking at 19.6 degrees, although with the wind chill, it is feeling a lot colder than that. taking a look at wind speed, we're looking at 1.8 miles per hour, 2.4. it's jumping rather quickly. in the last 10 minutes, 20.2 miles per hour and the one hour peak is 23.7 miles per hour. so really not terrible. we have just seen the gusts in the 20s for the past co
