when ken maclennan walked downstairs to see who it was, jason ambushed him. [ shots ] ken grabbed the rifle barrel, but it was too late, and jason fired seven shots, killing his father instantly. jason and matt ransacked the house to make it look like a robbery. they selected the spent shell casings, but unknowingly, left one behind. matt disposed of jason's blood-spattered clothes and tried to damage the inside of the rifle barrel to render it useless as evidence. but ken maclennan's blood inside the barrel and the shell casing from the scene were more than enough evidence for the trial. jason maclennan pleaded not guilty and claimed he killed his father in self-defense. the jury didn't buy it. jason was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. matt moeller pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years. >> sometimes i still can't believe that i'm here in prison. i still can't believe the decision i made to put myself here. >> the boys' plan to murder ken maclennan went off without a hitch, but the cover-up couldn't withstand scientific

ken, let me ask you this. so american investors don't seem to be concerned about russia. american investors don't seem to be worried about slow jobs growth. they're growing, not bangbusters. record high for stocks. what's going so right here? >> well, i think first of all on russia, investors just think they'll come to their senses and work something out. >> that putin can't be that -- >> well, he can be, but that they're work out some sort of deal and it won't destabilize things. i mean tshs could. it could. i think as far as growth, there's been this weather, and frankly the latest job numbers were a little better than i guessed. >> so if we hadn't been in the polar vortex, if it hadn't settled on top of us, maybe we'd have had a really good jobs number? >> maybe. we don't know. we won't know until the spring. the last few months were not great but it was betterthan people expected, but the stock market was going up before that. europe's been stronger. a higher prediction for their growth than we thought. there's been stability in the global economy and the weather's ba

ken, i hate when people say "never," but i'm going to sayt anyway. will we never see interest rates, mortgage rates this low again? >> well, i think we certainly have a very good situation now to finance, to buy a house. a year ago, it was better. you had me on a year ago, and they were a percentage point lower. a year from now, my guess is they'll be up 50 to 100 basis points, they'll be over 5. so if you want to buy a house, now's a good time. it is true that prices are up, oh, 20% over the last two years, so it's not quite as affordable as it was, but i would take advantage to lock a long-term mortgage now. and i think that's so people can refinance if they move from an adjustable rate mortgage to a fixed rate mortgage. i would advise, now's the time. >> but only if you want to live in that house, say, for five to ten years as opposed to flipping the house or using it as an investment, ken? >> yes. so that's a key theme i'm having. that you want to live in a house, don't look at it as a chance to make a quick short-term gain. that is -- that's ove

i think ken already talked broadly about our economic impact. so, this is actually one of our 32 garment manufacturers now in the city. they employ 10 individuals and they've actually been growing for the last couple of years. this is circa. circa makes private labeled boats. they are in the bayview and they have over 130 employees right now. cut loose is another one of our large cartv manufacturers. they do much of their production in-house and they recently moved into larger space in the bayview after a long search that we're quite pleased they wanted to stay here. anchor brewing, i want to point out the individual you see here actually came to anchor brewing through our apprenticeship program [speaker not understood] and she is now actually working there as an employee. this is one of our newer types of manufacturers making devices for desktop manufacturing, and this particular company was founded by a single unemployed woman scientist from arkansas there in the mission. they employ nine individuals. when we talk about nine individuals these
