air force academy. it could have had a bible verse written on the whiteboard outside his room. i've seen these white wards in the u.s. air force academy. they are about the size of this piece of paper and yet such a small space led to a large controversy. after the cadet he raised the bible verse and outside agitator claimed falsely to have pressured the air force academy to force the erasing of that label verse. we need to have regulations that allow cadets and those in uniform to live out their faith without pressure to stifle or compromise their faith. and let's take away the opportuniopportuni ty of outsiders to interfere in the spiritual lives of our cadets and those in uniform. this amendment mr. chairman requires the department of defense and the air force to rewrite the regulations to clear up confusion, remove ambiguity and protect constitutional rights. air force regulations appear to be more restricted than those of the other service branches so this amendment is focused on air force instruct

of course, the travis air force base air show is a very popular show. it hasn't been held for the last three years, but people were really looking forward to this event. but around 2:00 the plane went down and the colonel of the air force base describes the maneuver that he was doing. >> he was performing a maneuver, it was the normal schedule for the air expo. he was performing the maneuver where he was inverted, cutting a ribb ribbon. i can't give you the details of how high that ribbon is or was, but i will tell you, it's fairly close to the ground. >> reporter: so the weather conditions here, as you can see, are very windy. that will be part of the investigation to see whether wind was a factor. but the commander insists that it was even windier yesterday and it was a successful air show with no incident yesterday. perhaps today it might not have been a factor but certainly it's so windy people are wondering whether that had been an influence in the crash. now, of course, with this tragic incident, the people, the organizers had to cancel the event.
