how did the trail end up at aaron hernandez's door? >> it was really actually pretty much gum shoe detectivive work if you think about it. they were paying attention to what was happening in the oden lloyd case and said, wait a second. with e no e that aar we know that aaron hernandez was at that club earlier and we should look at the surveillance camera and looked at the club and the streets and were able to see that he had not actually left the scene. he was just circling the streets after he had left the club and then witness i believe there's witness testimony that showed that he pulled up to the car and shot into the bmw where the two victims were sitting. >> do police say that there was an altercation prior to this shooting? what do we know about the night and the events that led up to it? >> it's interesting you use the word altercation. usually the district attorney's office even if they don't reveal details use that word if there was some sort of a fight, an argument or a physical fight but they said chance encounter and that

that's the picture prosecutors are painting of aaron hernandez. he pleaded not guilty to a july 2012 double murder in boston. he's expected to go to trial for a separate murder last year. susan candiotti joins me now. this is madness. >> we've all heard of road rage? is this an example of what we're going to start calling bar rage? the scenario prosecutors lay out is pretty stunning, a chance encounter with perfect strangers, clueless about who aaron hernandez is. prosecutors say he thought people were testing him, disrespecting him, when he went to clubs to party. one night it led to double murder. prosecutors call it a chance encounter among strangers that ended in a double murder over a spilled drink at a boston nightclub. >> it was an entirely senseless killing. >> while dancing, investigators say daniel abreu accidentally bumps into then new england patriot aaron hernandez who spills his drink. >> the defendant became angered and increasingly agitated. >> reporter: hernandez is accused of stalking the man after leaving the bar and shooting fr

hernandez is currently facing charges in connection with another homicide. while we have a duty to inform the public, and in particular, the victims and their families about these charges, we also have an obligation to our counterparts in bristol county not to make any statements that could compromise their prosecution. we have a similar obligation to protect the defendant's right to a fair trial, not just in our case, but also in the bristol county case where he will likely be tried first. for these reasons, we must be limited in the information that we release to the public outside of a court proceeding. i've discussed these limitations with commissioner evans, and he agrees with me. we're both aware of the heightened public interest in this case, but we have to balance that interest with our ethical responsibilities to the commonwealth's cases and the defendant's rights. >> that's suffolk county d.a. daniel conley, indictments for aaron hernandez for two other first-degree murders. these took place about a year before the other murder for which he is now

hernandez has now been connected to that homicide and apparently some the forensic ballistic reports are what are tied to the two cases together. keep in mind, the double homicide that he is now being charged with is from july 2012. it was that outside of a theater district nightclub that he met these two men. again, no idea in terms of what they might have discussed or what happened he did follow them from the club. >> now that's on top, wiehl, of the murder rap he is now facing. trial is going to start fairly soon. >> in june, exactly. >> are these two incidents intertwined? >> we don't know that. >> it doesn't appear so. >> we scant say that we don't know. it doesn't appear that the second one was a chance random kind of thing. we can't connect them together. i'm sure the police are working on that gllt one he is incarcerated under, an individual, oden in fact dating his fiance's sister. that was the situation there. oden lloyd, you see him the homicide victim and other case we referred to preceded this case there is speculation that this mr. lloyd knew about these two shootings.

hernandez is held on bail and scheduled to be held on new charges on may 28th. there has been talk about the art on his arms, whether it's gang symbols or anything like that. first i've heard that the tattoo artist may have information about these crimes. >> that's really interesting. >>> all right, there could be trouble on the tax front for donald sterling. l.a. county is investigating two properties, including sterling's childhood home, for potential tax fraud. they're reportedly looking at whether sterling and his sister duped the county out of thousands in property taxes by failing to report that the owners of record have been dead for decades. the official owners were sterling's late mother and grandmother. as a result, officials say they were paying decades-old property tax rates. >>> same-sex marriages will continue in pennsylvania now that the governor has decided not to appeal a federal judge's ruling throwing out that state's marriage ban. governor tom corbett said in a statement that while he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, he
