a new jersey man may have been kidnapped studying in israel. we expect to learn more about the search for him later this morning. tracy davidson is live in our digital operation center now where she's been following details on the disappeared of aaron sofer. >> he disappeared on friday while hiking with a friend in the jerusalem forest. members of his community fear he may have become a victim of the gaza/israeli conflict. he became separated from his friend while making their way along a steep incline in the forecast. he's not been seen sense. israeli authorities launched a massive search and rescue operation involving thousands of volunteers but so far there's been no trace of sofer. back in june a lakewood teenager was killed in the west bank when he and two friends disappeared while hitchhiking home. their bodies were found two weeks later. hamas militants claimed responsibility for the murders and it was one of the key factors leading to summer conflict between israel and hamas. the sofer family is in israel right now and later we'll hear
