south buffalo. as i indicated, it is slow going still? south buffalo. we are making progress but there's a long way to go the driving ban is still in effect in south buffalo. we want people to continue to observe the driving ban. we've had situations where because it is bright and sunny people have driven in from other municipalities and gotten stuck fooled by the beautiful sunshine. there's tremendous amounts of snow on the ground in south buffalo. the limited state of emergency in south buffalo is still in w responding to ems calls and stranded motorists. nose vehicles are being managed by our fire department. i want to thank them for the tremendous work they are doing under difficult circumstances in responding to people that have emergency situations, particularly health emergencies. our health services has four crews helping to shovel out seniors in other parts of the city. not south buffalo. we still don't the ability to send crews into south buffalo to help with that kind of work. just a corr

to the north of the city of buffalo, it's just a few inches. to the south of buffalo, it is measured by feet. and in some cases, quickly approaching six feet. that's the snowfall. add to that the snowdrifts which have exceeded ten feet in some areas. there is so much snow, the city literally doesn't know when to do with it because the plows won't work. it is falling too fast. in some cases, four to five inches an hour, hour after hour after hour. they've been forced to bring in front end loaders and dump trucks. they've hauled out well over 100 dump trucks of snow, taking it out of the area. on top of that, in the hardest hit southern communities, the roadways are impassable. emergency crews are resorting to snowmobiles and toboggans if they have to move emergency patients. and there have been at least four deaths attributed to the storm in erie county surrounding buffalo. the problem is, there may be a lotup over the -- a letup over the next 24 hours. how much snow could come? some say 90 inches, some say more. however you look at it, the mayo
