philly jesus is mike grant. he's a 28-year-old guy who got into a lot of trouble, had drug issues, was a part of a rap group, got hit by a car. his life pretty much hit rock bottom and he said while incarcerated he found religion. that rock bottom changed him into the person who walked around dressed as philly jees. >> getting the message out, what are people's reaction to him? >> it's really interesting. because initially when you hear about him, you hear about the guy wondering around, everyone's first question is is he crazy. people come up to him, people want to shake hands and take pictures with him. he would jump on kids' skateboards. so it really works for him. because he uses the fact that people approach him as a springboard to actually have legitimate discussions about religion. so i think he's getting to more people than he ever would if he just asked to talk to them. >> the bbc did a story on philly jesus, it was trending in great britain. some of the tweets include this one, my new friend is blowing
