here's a new one that just popped up in san jose. it's the southbound lanes of 280 approaching saratoga avenue. we're not seeing major delays yet. bay bridge toll plaza no problems approaching the bay bridge toll plaza. but it is stacked up through the maze. metering lights were on early at 5:42. and it looks okay when you get on the span. snow potholes like yesterday. no major flooding concerns up and down the nimitz which we also saw yesterday. right now everything is quiet near oakland airport and the coliseum. taillights is the northbound direction heading into downtown. here's a live look at the richmond/san rafael bridge. this also got pretty backed up yesterday with all the flooding and the rain coming down on 101. it affected 580, as well. right now though everything looks great. 14 minutes from 580 to -- or actually that's the wrong drive time. it should be about 10 minutes or so across the span. that's your latest "kcbs" drive to work. your forecast now, roberta is standing by. >>> we have lingering showers in the area. wha

san jose at 32. now, the wind really whipped through today with the storm moving down here through canada right across the bay area it produced a copious amount of storm reports. you can see several reports of trees in the north bay, east bay, south bay, i count at least 40 of those coming into the national weather service, storm spotter network. so, not only trees down but extremely gusty winds. check out our top wind gusts in berkeley of 62 miles per hour at 2:33 this afternoon. it was at an elevation of 1,402 feet. you tend to get higher gusts the more you go up in the atmosphere but that's very impressive here in the bay area. the no doubt single largest problem we had from a tree coming down was right here on interstate 80 when a tree blocked both lanes as that tree caught fire once it hit a power line. so a lot of damage here across the bay area and that's just a couple of our big reports. what to expect with this wind? still gusty tonight, 20 to 50 miles per hour. by wednesday morning, it stay
