i'm jacqueline london. first, we are tracking snow. you can see the storm moving in. it could cause a mess not only during the morning rush but in the afternoon as well. penndot crews are getting ready for the snow. we spotted them outside philadelphia pretreating the roads ahead of the storm. glenn "hurricane" schwartz is tracking that snow. glen. >> yes jacqueline the snow is going to be moving this way, perhaps a little bit more slowly as far as getting heavier is concerned and it's coming and why we have a first alert weather day out for tomorrow. it will be slushy snow and big red flakes as they come down and the afternoon rush and heaviest of that snow north of the pennsylvania turnpike. you can see the general trend to the east. this area is interesting, the beginning of the development coming right at us. when it first starts it may be light and not cause a lot of problems, and may fool you a little bit because later on in the morning, the snow gets heavier, reduces visibility starts sticking on things. in the afternoon, snow to the north, rain to the south an

good evening i'm jacqueline london. we'll have your first look ahead. we begin with developing news. the search for answers as to why the co-pilot of the germanwings praen intentionally murdered 149 people. the 27-year-old locked our customers the captain of the mane and crashed it into a mountainside in the french alps. they have searched the apartment where he lived and the home of his parents. there is no indication that he was a terrorist. we can tell you that the plane took off from barcelona at 10:01 a.m. at 10:27 it levelled off at cruising altitude. they set altitude for a straight line decent. the captain tried to get back into the cockpit but he would not open the door. at 10:32, they tried to contact the plane but no one answered. at 10:40 the passengers began screaming and the plane made impact. a mother and dad had ties to our area. randy is live in our digital operations center and you have been talking to those who knew the victims. >> yes they have deep ties to philadelphia and delaware county. a mother and daughter on a trip together to

good evening, i'm jacqueline london. >> we have details on that federal investigation in just moments. we begin with robert wilson. the philadelphia police officer that gave his life to protect a store full of customers. >> two brothers are charged with killing him. late this afternoon, a judge denied bail for ramone williams. carlton hipps is the hospital wearing officer wilson's handcuffs. george spencer is where it went down. >> these metal fronts coffer the game stop store tonight, and upclose we're getting a sense of how compact this space is. take a look it starts here at the front of the building of course, and continues back only about as deep as you see that dumpster there a few steps back. it is a space where 50 gunshots were fired off yesterday afternoon. early this evening, we watched a repairman hammering door slats for a snow day shootout that killed officer wilson yesterday. >> when i got the news that he had passed i mean my heart, i'm still in grief, i'm shaken. >> when you look at the actions of the officer, he redefined what a hero is all about. >> they say ramone w

>> jacqueline getting new information and this entire incident unfolding within the past hour and we're learning it all happened inside this asian cuisine restaurant. apparently a popular spot directly apart from the garden and what we're hearing is that as many as six people were inside this small chinese food restaurant when thai got into some sort of fight here inside this store. as that fight unfolded we're hearing there were at least two injuries and right now investigators believed those injuries are stab wound, but they're working to find out if a gun may have been involved as well. so some sort of relatively large fight involving five or six people. two of those people end up being injured and potentially with stab wounds and possibly with something more serious and i can tell you investigators are inside this store revealing the surveillance camera video involved in all of this to try to get to the bottom of what happens and at least one of those people involved have been in custody. we're live on the scene in southwest philadelphia i'm george spencer, nbc 10 news. >> all right

. >> reporter: yeah, it is cold and snowy and the snow is still coming down jim and jacqueline and it is coming down hard. if you saw our newscast at 2:00 this afternoon and you saw my live report at 2:30. we had two inches of snow on the ground then well it has continued to come down and it has continued to accumulate and you can see right there, we've basically doubled that amount in 90 minutes, up to about four inches of snow here in the mays landing section of hamilton township and we're along the black horse pike and this is right here the fifth and sixth snowplow that we've seen come by here in the last five minutes or so so. you can see this is a busy road and normally a busy shopping area. the road is snow covered and this is the main road and you can imagine that these side roads and the secondary roads are in far worse shape than this. we had to wait longer for the snow to get here but once it did, conditions quickly went downhill. >> as the snow started piling up in egg harbor city early this afternoon, melissa brookmeyer's company told everyone to clock out. >> they want u

jacqueline battle scraped some of the mud from the clothing and ground it to a fine powder. battle sifted and weighed the samples. and then examined them under a polarizing microscope. the mud from janise's clothing contained bentonite. >> bentonite is a clay-like material comprised of minerals of aluminum silicates, magnesium and iron oxides. ranchers would add bentonite as a sealant so that the water would be retained in the watering hole versus seeping through into the ground. >> the bentonite on janice's clothing was identical to the sample from the pond behind her ex-husband's camp. battles examined mud samples from other ponds in the national park, but none matched the mud from janice's clothing. >> we were ecstatic because we're now able to show she was lying and we were now able to show her in an area where the murder weapon was stolen. >> to investigators, this was proof that janice had stolen her ex-husband's gun, possibly in an attempt to frame him. >> we were able to put janice dodson at her ex-husband's camp. we couldn't put the ex-husband at her camp. >> perhap

. >> the good news jacqueline if we can start with the good news look at how deep the snow is here. you can see on this bush look how much snow. greenville got a lot of snow and down at the beaches they're getting snow. this is the problem. this is route 40 in salem church road and this is a good example of what we're talking about. you can see the snow that fell on the roads and it's still out on the roads and it's big, lumpy, wet and slushy and it will re-freeze. state police handled about 80 accidents today. and this little incline, that's not a big hill we saw four or five sedans get stuck and needed a push to get up the hill. it is sloppy and messy. the governor did not declare a state of emergency and you can see here there are plenty of cars still on the road and people have been coming up to us all afternoon and can you believe how many people are out on the roads? overnight things will get worse before they get better and that is why many school districts in new castle county have called school religious schools and private schools, too, everybody is looking forward to tomo
