officially, 65 is the high at reagan national. fewer degrees above average. right where we should be for the final couple of days of march. temperatures are in the 50's north and west of the metro area. it's comfortable. few 60's elsewhere. 61 at lexington park. so a little pocket that you can tell by the blues and greens. a little cooler weather through the great lakes. nothing cold. cold air what it is for it is way up to the north and east of boston. that's a good sign for spring weather lovers. it's indicative of a pattern shift that's under way. when you have pattern shifts from winner weather patterns to spring weather patterns it's not like that. it takes a while but certainly you can see the signs and already look to the west st. louis, kansas city, 72 and that weather pattern is heading here for thursday and friday. this morning, the front went through. a little rain, a little sleet and a little snow. sunshine and remember whatter temperatures. don't get used to it. another pattern is coming in. upper air disturbance on the leading edge of another co

they will diminish later. 66 degrees now at reagan national. winds sustained at 17 miles an hour but higher gusts to 43. almanac page 73. beautiful spring day with the sunshine. then the clouds came in. 44 was the morning low. 61 and 42 are the average high and low for this last day in march. cold front coming through. but the really chilly air is lagging well behind to the northwest and the north. we'll see the changes in temperatures later tonight. now, we continue to see some pretty good downpours indicating yellow on the eastern shore and north and east of frederick and westminster but no lightning, just rain. but gusty winds and heavier showers especially come down and tend to bring stronger winds with them from a couple thousand feet up. strong winds and wind advisory are a good deal. drive a couple hours north into pennsylvania, you're dealing with snow now. there's that much of a difference in temperatures between pennsylvania and our area. here's the wind advisory until 9:00. everybody west of the chesapeake bay out to the appalachians

we actually hit 73 degrees earlier today at reagan national for the high. but now, we dropped 66 there now. 52 in gaithersburg. 54 in winchester. warmer temperatures south and east. the gusty winds will blow the colder air southeast towards the atlantic coast. winds gust out of the northwest at 36 miles per hour at gaithersburg. 38 at quantico and 35-mile-per-hour wind gusts reported at reagan national airport. we will turn colder and have that steady decline in temperatures. we'll have an average wake-up of 32 degrees. the range across our viewing area 25 to 34 degrees. on top of that we'll have a breeze out there. it will knock the wind chills a bit lower. in fact take a look at our future wind chills for 8:00 tonight, range from the 30's to low 40's and then overnight through tomorrow morning, wind chills backing into the mid 20's and downtown tomorrow morning, plan ahead. as we get through the day it will s on the chilly side. air temperatures near 50. wind chills remaining lower. it will be a chilly day. so long to the 70's for a while. 32 in the morni
