captain chuck nash served in the u.s. navy more than 25 years. he is a military analyst for fox news. captain nash, wonderful to see you again. we should emphasize the roosevelt is an aircraft carrier. what are they planning to do with all those planes? >> i think what we've done, david, we have moved the preeminent force in the entire hemisphere right off the coast of yemen. there is nothing the iranians can do that can come close to matching that. i think maybe what is happening here on several fronts, the saudis have backed off because they have been under intense pressure from the white house to do so. and, i believe that by putting u.s. forces down there, that's giving the saudis their out for the time-being. they now declared that they achieved their military objectives. so they have stopped the bombing. the u.s. is positioned a force there. now the iranians are sending more force in there. david: yeah. excuse me, captain. let's focus on what is happening between the u.s. and iranians for the moment because three is too much for me to handl

chuck nash is a retired navy captain and fox news military analyst. good to see you, sir. so president bush 43 has always been very careful saying presidents deserve a lot of support. he's here for president obama as he wants to make a phone call but he wouldn't publicly criticize him. these are private remarks supposed to stay off the record but they have trickled out. what do you make of it? >> i think you are right, he is maintaining that posture. he is not publicly coming out. he is not on the record. this was a private event and someone compromised what they went in under which was probably the rules of the non-disclosure or to just non-attribution, at least. so the remarks do leak out and i don't think he was being personally critical of the president. he said basic truths basic facts on the ground which is that sanctions, if you pull sanctions too early, you can't snap them back. it is not practical because sanctions take a long time. he said that we ought to view any deal with the iranians as how it would like in the middle east for our grand children. well of cour

joined by chuck nash there is a lot to talk about today good. to have you here. >> let's start with the fact the state department is saying whoa everybody. this is not an intercept mission. we are merely trying to keep the waters in that area open. you hear from jennifer griffin that this aircraft carrier, the "uss roosevelt" is closely tracking these iranian ships. how do you read all this? >> the official spokes people are maintaining the very low level, this is just a routine mission. we are doing freedom of navigation. the iranians think we are do anti-piracy operations. yemen and the gulf of aiden is becoming a magnet for ships. you don't pull aircraft carriers out of the iranian gulf and send it down there if you are not intending to have the dominant force in that particular area. we can say whatever we want but this is pressing against the laws of unintended consequences. if we see something happen if the iranians are dumb enough to try to actually run weapons resupply ships into one of the ports in yemen, and we don't do anything about
