two men this noon accused of robbing banks in d.c. maryland and virginia are in court. thomas george and dewitt hall appeared for a status hearing. they are accused of robbing nine banks since january. getting away with thousands of dollars. according to the f.b.i., the robbers would burst into banks with guns drawn. their identities hidden by sunglasses, hats and fake beerdz. d.n.a. tests will now be conducted on clothes found in the suspect's car. he's due back in court at the end of may. a father in spotsylvania county is facing felony child abuse charges this noon for burning his infant daughter. police say 24-year-old william schmule dipped his 9-month-old girl in scalding hot water. baby was rushed to the emergency room with extensive burns. authorities say he was charged with injuring his girlfriend's 4-month-old son in 2013. mounting frustration in nepal this noon as aid delivery has slowed to a crawl. people faced off with police in kathmandu. about 200 people blocked traffic as they complained about not getting any aid. right now the death toll from the earthq

a group of armed bank robbers said to be responsible for nine bank jobs in d.c., virginia, and maryland. they were known for their military-like precision, their brazen guns drawn tactics, fake beards, and of course the black hats. according to court documents, 66-year-old thomas anthony george has confessed to the robberies. officials say george's last bank job was here at the wells fargo on connecticut avenue. they say he walked in, pulled a gun and said give me money or i'm going to kill a customer. they say he said that three times. according to court documents on that march 13th day, george and an accomplice made off with $9000 from the bank. and minutes later george was arrested at this apartment on 19th place in southeast. the fbi showed up in full force. they say george had about $4,000 in cash in his pocket. now there was another man arrested in connection with this wells fargo robbery. more about him, more about the money they got, more about the money they lost coming up at 6. jim, back to you. >> pat, thank you. >>> now to an emotional case that moved jurors to tears today i

we're also seeing heavy rain towards the d.c. area into central maryland. there is the potential we could be dealing with flooding conditions. that potential is primarily west of washington, along the blue ridge. 54 degrees right now in leonardtown, 54 stafford, the rain totals about a quarter inch. we will have one to two inches by the morning. the rain should be wrapping up by about 7:00, 8:00 in the morning. as we look at the conditions, lots of rain across the eastern seaboard that will remain the case. the low-pressure currently over the midwest. this will churn the moisture our way. as that churns moisture, it looks like we will have the potential of whether coming in the form of severe storms. we will watch the severe storms very carefully, looking towards the afternoon. looking also towards the evening. we have the potential of hail and gusty wind with the system as it works its way close to the region. that weather will continue the next 24 hours. the futurecast, monday, 7:00 a.m., as we put this in motion conditions dry out midday, good news near

[ no audio ] >> reporter: this all started and ended in d.c. a big porg happened in suit -- portion happened in suitland. that gate here, the main gate, gate 5 is still closed at this hour. the census bureau will open i'm told on a two-hour delay. i want you to take a look at this video from the scene last night in suitland where a lot of this took place. police say that security guard 59-year-old lawrence buckner approached the suspect and his girlfriend who he allegedly kidnapped. they were sitting in a car at the gate. the suspect was arguing with his girlfriend and the security guard approached them to find out what was going on. that's when police say that security guard was shot. he later died. now, the complex here at the census bureau was on lockdown for several hours while police were looking for that suspect but he had fled. he drove to northeast d.c. in his green honda. police were looking for them. and they eventually spotted him. from there police say the

a group of armed bank robbers said to be be responsible for nine bank jobs in d.c., virginia, and maryland. they were known for their military- military-like precision, their brazen guns-drawn tactics, fake beards and of course the black hats. according to court documents 66-year-old thomas anthony george has confessed to the robberies. officials say george's last bank job was here at the wells fargo on connecticut avenue. they say he walked in pulled a gun and said give me money or i'm going to kill a customer. they say he said that three times. according to court documents, on that march 13th day george and an accomplice made off with $9,000 from the bank. minutes later george was arrested at this apartment on 19th place in southeast. the fbi showed up in full force. they say george had about $4,000 in cash in his pocket. also arrested in connection with the connecticut avenue wells fargo robbery, 37-year-old dawit hall. he's said to be an xmris in this case. it's unclear if he's linked to the others. now, over the last year and a half, the black hat bandits made quite a haul, more than

and maryland last night. romd anderson is facing charges of kidnapping and assaulting and resisting officers. he has not yet been charged in the shooting death of the security guard at the census bureau. we've also learned that anderson was supposed to appear in court today for an assault against his girlfriend that occurred in february. this is the same woman he's accused of kidnapping last night. and we have our first picture of the slain security guard, lawrence buckner. he leaves behind a wife children and grandchildren. at the census bureau today, the main gate remained closed. most employees worked on a two-hour delay. those who came in expressed a sense of sadness over the death of a man who was tasked with keeping them safe. >> you're protecting the people here at the bureau and you enup getting shot, and i feel so bad for his family. >> it's just very tragic. >> the census bureau is issuing condolences to the guard's family and commending the multiple police agencies that were involved last night for
