spencer christian has the latest on the forecast, spencer? >> lovely day and a little breezy right now and it will shift tomorrow and bring us an offshore flow which will contribute to the warm up and here's a live look as it prevails across the bay area. let's take a close-up of the 24-hour temperature change and it's several degrees warmer right now in virtually all looks than at this hour yesterday and the exception is half moon bay. blue skies over the bay and over the embarcadero. the forecast features will be hot inland the next few days and coastal cooling begins friday and cooler in all areas this weekend. let's see what's happening atmospherically and high ridges of weather expanding and it will help set up the warm pattern. at 11:00 tonight we'll see basically an onshore flow still breezy along the coast but by tomorrow morning we'll have a bit of an offshore pattern developing now and of course, that will assist the warm-up which will be quite significant and tomorrow's highs will range from low to mid-70s on the coast to lower 90s

spencer christian here with the answer and this accuweather update. what is the weather spencer? >> it's got several layers. so let's get right to live doppler 7 hd. we have partly sunny skies and very, very windy conditions and rain has already moved onshore well to our north around the fort bragg area and as you can see there's more developing offshore and this is a system that will bring showers to the bay area overnight and let's get down to the winds gusting and fairfield and 35 in novato. that 93 in san carlos is not human error and it's the mechanical -- and it's an error. as you get the picture. it's gusty ail over the bay area. so over the next six hours this will be the pattern and we'll see the area of rain that is now to the north and northwest pushing into the north bay by about 9:00 10:00 tonight and the wet weather begins then and the showers will move through during the overnight hours and this is the first forecast, as we look down toward ocean beach and we'll see showers arriving late continued and lingering showers early tomorrow morning and check this out, par

let's begin with nbc 10's george spencer on that scene. george? >> reporter: we can tell you the scene is still incredibly active as police work this shooting investigation. when we got out of our live trucks, we could see the police helicopters flying low across this neighborhood. i am at 52nd and master and it appears that the shooting scene, at least the heart of this investigation, is at least a full block east of where i'm standing probably near 51st and master. take a look at some of the video that our cameras captured an even busier scene captured just about 30 minutes ago. our cameraman saw s.w.a.t. teams arriving here. based on what we know so far, seems that the officer had some sort of confrontation with the suspect in this area around 51st and master. that officer ended up we're being told w a gunshot wound to his thigh. we're hearing that the suspect or possibly multiple suspects then fled that immediate area. but was aeas we showed you at the beginning of this newscast sky 4 captured at least one person being taken into custody in th

spencer, support the first time in a while, a decent sized storm. >> that's true. this may be the biggest single-storm rainfall we've had. as you can see, there are pockets of moisture moving in all directions from the southwest, though the storm is up to the northwest. circulation is pushing up these pockets of moisture. starting at 7:00 this evening we'll see the cold front spring through the bay area around 2:00 a.m. bringing heavy wind and rain. behind the front, we might get isolated thunderstorms and small hail. 5:00 tomorrow morning it will still be wet out there. the storm could slow down the morning traffic. even into the mid to late morning hours, we have a chance of thunder and small hail. as that energy starts to leave us, we can still have trailing isolated showers into wednesday. so this will be a nice little period of stormy weather for us. highs tomorrow statewide mainly in the 50s, it's going to be cool all across the state as cold air and unstable air will accompany the storm. highs will be from mid 50s to just above 60 degrees. showers will trail

darcy spencer shows how it's igniting controversy again. >> reporter: a concerned citizen called police about 5:00 this afternoon because the children were left unattended in silver spring. police took them to montgomery county child protective services in rockville. cps notified their parents. cps confirms that it's following up on reports that the children were left alone again today. we're still waiting to hear from the family. they made national headlines for their free-range style of parenting. cps began investigating the silver spring family back in december. that's after their 10-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter were found walking home alone from a playground. then in march the parents were found responsible for " "unsubstantiated child neglect." that means the case remains in the state data base for five years and then is ecopinged. the trick here -- ex-pinged. the trick here, that's if no additional reports are added to the file. there's no word on what the incident will mean for the case. the couple say they are responsible parents teaching their children self-reliance and

good evening i'm george spencer. police in both delaware and pennsylvania are sorting out what happened starting around 6:00 tonight. the chase began at second and monroe streets in wilmington where two people were shot and it continued up i-95 ending in delaware count on fair view road in folsom. we are live where it end and randy, you talked to witnesses about what they saw and heard. >> reporter: george witnesses said this chase ended with a crash right here at this intersection off of 476 here in folsom pa. it also began a lot further south across state lines. let me show you video. police in wilmington delaware investigated a shooting at second and monroe streets of two people happening about 6:00 p.m. two suspects in that shooting took off going north. confirming there was a police chase that led them there to folsom, pa. witnesses said the two suspects crashed at the intersection of mcdade and fair view and took off on foot before being arrested. people working nearby said it was a chaotic scene. >> they crash
