tiffany wilson begins our team cover live from at & t park with reaction to his death. >> reporter: fans remember lon simmons as the sound track to summer nights. even when they weren't at the ballpark they say he made them feel part of the game. simmons career in the giants broadcast booth spanned five decades. he started with russ ej hodge he is in 1958 when the giants moved to san francisco. today the booth is named in their honor. simmons is remembered for his enthusiasm, his incredible sports knowledge and his booming baritone voice. he shared shows skills across the bay calling games for oakland a's for 15 years and spent 26 seasons announcing for the 49ers. today the giants released this statement. the giants family and bay area
