in germantown megan mcgrath, news 4. >>> we go back over the scene in baltimore. breaking news this morning, really stunning press conference. the state's attorney marilyn mosby announcing that the freddie gray investigation is now a homicide investigation calling for the arrest of six baltimore police officers with so charges to say the least. mentioning that at no point in time was freddie gray secured in the wagon, contrary to police protocol. that at no point was medical attention rendered when freddie gray asked for it. when he asked for an inhaler. she call ud it obvious need for medical attention in which officers did not summon medical attention. again, state's attorney marilyn mosby calling this a new homicide investigation. that the arrest of freddie gray was, in fact illegal. there was a knife mentioned at one point that freddie gray may have had. we now know according to marilyn mosby that that knife was not a switchblade. that it was folded and that knife was in fact legal under maryland law. this is the chopper view now over the area where we will be

county police say a car hit him in germantown last night. the crash happened on route 355 between the fox chapel and middlebrook village shopping centers. detectives say he was crossing the street there. >> 6:02 right now. for the first time in days people in baltimore are not waking up under a citywide curfew. the maryland national guard will also begin pulling out of the city today. it was one week ago today that rioters looted and burned businesses in the city that caused the mayor to implement that curfew. no one allowed outside after 10:00 p.m. since that violent night protests have remained peaceful. the violence was a response to freddie gray's death. the 25-year-old was critically hurt while in police custody. many say it's important to still push for change. maryland governor larry hogan dubbed yesterday a statewide day of prayer and healing. the governor went to church in west baltimore. the city's mayor toured mondawmin mall. the city said the worst is over, but there's still work to be done. coming up we'll have a live report fro

take a look at the end of this block, you can see philadelphia police have this entire stretch of germantown avenue shut down. and back in these live pictures at the bottom of the emergency entrance here you can see the emergency room doctors and nurses actually waiting outside for incoming patients here. in the hour that we've been on this scene, we have seen mostly philadelphia police vans transporting the victims. those victims have been brought here in groups of four five at a time. we've watched many of them loaded right out of the back of those police vans into wheelchairs and other stretchers. there was really no way for us to keep count during the time we've been out here but the number of injured at this hospital, alone, appears to be more than two dozen. that is a very informal count based on what we've seen off the premises. as we come back to the live pictures, you can obviously tell this is a hospital that is still possibly awaiting more patients to arrive here. the other thing we noticed here on the ground is the number of temple hospital patients -- excuse me, temple hospital
