developing first at 4:00 a local man featured on the popular mtv show catfish is accused of making terror threats against metro. >> now he is in a d.c. jail facing some serious charges. and wentdy? >> better known as kid cole. he appeared on catfish last year posing as a rapper to allegedly scam a fan online. metro transit officers arrested him this morning and he is accused of making threats against stations buses, trains for the past five months. all of those threats turned out to be false but some had some big impacts. january he called 911 calling people from france saying he planted bombs around the potomac metro station. the station had to be shut down and was swept for bombs. two days later, police say he called again, threatening to take hostages on a metrobus. kill them if he wasn't paid a $15 million ransom. and according to police in his most recent call two weeks ago he claimed his nephew was planning to blow up a metro station. transit police say they recognized his voice from that tv show and they used cell phone records from the stations and the buses to identify stone cole

a man who once appears on an mtv reality show has now been arrested after allegedly making what police are calling terrorist threats against metro stations there, buses and trains in washington, d.c. tell me more about who this guy is and what was he trying to do? >> that's right, brooke. he was arrested this morning. his he was arrested this morning on charges for terroristic threats. the police here in d.c. say that 11 threats over the course of the last five months from december to may this month were called in from him for various difficult reasons. one was alleging he had planned to ambush the president's motorcade. there was a tip that someone was planning to take hostages. so over the course of 11 phone calls in the last five months threats potentially from him. now, they connected this case to him, brooke because of that show "catfish" that he had appeared on. metro transit police made the connection using digital phone records, cellular phone records, as well as surveillance from inside the metro. according to the metro transit police all of those 11 threats made were wholly f
