storm team 4 meteorologist amelia segal will talk about the storms. >> reporter: we're live along old town alexandria. the rain is coming down at this hour but it appears that the worst is over at this point. behind me you can see the ponding on the roadway here. that's what area officials are dealing with and warning folks about tonight, that there is some street level flooding going on here in alexandria as well as the district and maryland. let's go to the video posted by a viewer on instagram. it shows the flooding taking place. apparently we don't have that video but meaj jurormajor flooding occurred here. so much rain fell in a short amount of time. this was an intense storm. at the height of the storm we pulled into a parking lot area and, boy, so much lightning and thunder, the rain was coming down so hard. it was one of the most intense storms that we have seen in some time. we have been checking social media to see if there was any damage in the area. we haven't seen any reports of meaj juror damage, which is kind of surprising considering how intense these storms were. also
