i'm becky anderson in tunisia. this is cnn news room. >>> we are following those three terror attacks very closely. a mosque, a factory and a hotel behind me all targeted in kuwait france and tunisia. firemen fired up the hotel killing 38 people. isis claimed the attack was carried out by them. officials say he wasn't known to have terror connections and no indication of foreign travel on his most recently issued passport. it is believed he worked in the tourism industry and that may be how he knew about this hotel. the whole attack lasted four to six minutes. well isis claims responsibility for this attack in kuwait city. hundreds are wounded and 28 dead. french authorities investigating a man who tried to blow up a factory. two wounded. police found a decapitated body and a severed head. witnesses say the shooter at this hotel behind me was taking out anyone he could see. take a listen as they describe what happened. >> i heard gunshots firing. first, i thought it was fireworks. then two minutes, boom boom, boom.

becky? >> thank you. isis claiming responsibility for the murderous attack on the shia mosque in kuwait. isis claiming responsibility for the deaths of the people behind me. and then in france another attack. investigators piecing together exactly what went on in france on friday. authorities have a suspect in custody now. they say he caused an explosion at a gas factory in lyon and pinned the head of his decap pated boss to a fence. hala gorani reports. >> reporter: sources say a delivery driver drove up to the gate and then caused an explosion, trying to cause first damage against a u.s.-owned business. when firefighters responded to the scene, they found the severed head of the man's employer eremploy er er according to authorities. yacine sali is in custody. the french president quickly said this was a terrorist attack. banners with arabic language were found next to the severed head. this is leading investigators to assume it was a terrorist attack as well. also in custody is the wife of yacine sali.

becky? >>> the national association of realtors says first-time home buyers helped spike housing in may. california also making a strong comeback. our next guest says the state's housing market is booming rite now. joining us to tell us why is josh flagg. he's a real estate agent in beverly hills and one of the stars of bravo's show "million dollar listing los angeles." thanks for coming in. >> thanks. >> we know real estate is all local. >> well, i looked at the report from last month. may over april we're up 3%. and then another 3% from february. you know new york is kind of tapered off a bit. i know because i've been looking at property in new york recently and comparing it to l.a. i think they've come to the conclusion that we have 365 days of sunshine a year. you don't have to drain your pool because it's going to crack in the winter like in the hamptons. you're not paying $4,000 a square foot. >> but the weather is nothing new when you come to california and you've got drought issues.

becky? >> diana, the homes he was just talking about, though, are homes that people are still living in even though they're in the foreclosure process. that's a little different than zombies? >> no. he was talking about where they've left the homes in these higher priced markets. that's why we're seeing more zombies. that's because these prices are priced $200,000 $300,000 when the banks repossess them. because prices are getting so strong the banks can now sell them for more. that's why they're getting them through the process more quickly. >> why was there such an explosion in zombie forclosures? was it there were too many for them to handle? >> the problem was during the housing crash, these houses were worth so little. you were seeing them listed for $40,000 or $50,000. remember the robosigning, all of the documentation issues. these houses were sitting up to four years at a time. now the banks have all their ducks in a row. they know they can get good value for these homes at auction. t

stock prices higher. >> you know, becky, i agree. i still -- even though -- i kind of think we might get a full bore correction here. but i wouldn't exit the stock market. i'm struggling with it myself because where are you going to go? i don't like bonds. i think they're going to get killed just as much or more and cash pays me nothing. in fact, with inflation, it gives me a negative return. so my response has been to diversify differently and ride through this correction. i'm doing it mainly by diversifying away from the united states. the interesting thing about the problem the market faces is it's kind of a problem unique to the united states. we are the ones that are at full employment at maximum profit margins. muff much of the world doesn't have that issue. so if the u.s. fully corrects other markets will too. but i think they'll hold up better. and i think it's a way to ride this out. if we correct here in the united states, refresh values refresh sentiment, reset rates a little bit, then i think we could have another run in

we just don't know becky. contagion but trade flows, capital flows, even labor flows has ways of mutating and causing unexpected developments. so we can't pretend that we can just ring fence a small country from having an impact on a broader region or on the world when the world is growing some sluggishly. >> what's the fix, though? these europeans are in a bit of a pickle with this because the greeks cannot pay this back. they probably never should have been allowed into the european union to begin with. what do you do at this point? >> the fair point is to bite the bullet, both greece and the lenders, and really go after the structural issues that need addressing. without the structural fix, the short-term kick the can fixes are just not going to do it. >> but the greeks have not gone along with any of these structural changes. they don't want to do these so if they refuse you say, okay if you're not going to agree with us you're gone. >> cut the cord. there's going to be no resolution of the greek problem w

i'm becky quick along with joe kernen and andrew ross sorkin. andrew will start us off with today's stories. >> we have u.s. equity futures ahead of the jobs report. take a look and see what's going on. things not looking great. dow looks like it would open off about 18 points and nasdaq off a point and a half and the s&p 500 off a point, as well. of course, all that could change at 8:30 when we get the employment numbers. in the meantime, developments in greece overnight. the company not making a payment to the imf that was due today. they will bundle four payments due this month into one lump sum of 1.5 billion euros and that will come due on june 30th. canceled a meeting scheduled for today with the european commission. he is expected to address parliament at 11:00 a.m. eastern time and that is a speech that could move markets and, of course, we'll bring you the news when that happens. >>> we have been reporting all week the cartel is expected to keep current output ceiling unchanged. corporate news this morning. vodaphone in talks with liber
