>> reporter: eun, good morning to you. as you can probably see behind me, the memorial here at emanuel ame church continues to grow in downtown charleston. yesterday, for the first time, the church opened its doors. it was the first worship service since last week's massacre, when nine people were killed in a bible study. that was the first public show of support. the first show of support, the feeling. last night roughly 9,000 people packed highways and roads and bridges here in charleston to create this so-called unity chain. have a look at some of more powerful images that have popped up here in charleston over the past week or so. we'll also take a look at this 2,500 word manifesto that surfaced over the weekend, this hate-filled manifesto that law enforcement forces say is the work of the suspect. we'll look at that and also look at the funerals that are set to start. all of this, eun as you know, has renewed a conversation in south carolina about removing the confederate battle flag. taking the flag off state house g

the two that you mentioned we're really watching closely for, eun. let's start quickly with same-sex marriage. two constitutional questions -- is there a fundamental right with equal protection under the law? the other question -- do states have to recognize marriages in other states? now, taking a look at some of the people who are benefiting from the subsidies in obamacare. the court is going to have to decide if those subsidies are constitutional based on just four words in that 2,700 page law. and those four words are established by the state. in other words, there are 34 states that are using the federal exchange. theyn't the set up their -- they didn't set up their own exchanges. are people guaranteed the right to get the subsidies because the law says if they're established by the state. there are both sides to this. some are concerned if the subsidies go away it's billions of dollars. there could be what analysts call a death spiral. in other words, helping people come -- healthy people come out of the system and it's case that people are wat

. >> reporter: good morning, eun. i think it took a lot of people on capitol hill by surprise. there will be some tough questions from senators at a hearing on capitol hill today. now, the inspector general homeland security report says that it found 73 airline employees with links to terrorism holding active security badges. now, those badges would give them access at an airport to secure areas around the plane and other sensitive places. the tsa failed to identify those people, because the agency doesn't have the security clearance to get that information. the report says the tsa should work harder to request that sensitive material. now, further, the report says that thousands of records used to vet those employees were missing full names or even social security numbers. last week, the tsa failed 90% of tests for security for smuggling in weapons into the airport. the senate hearing is expected to be a callout session so to speak for the tsa and executives involved in the tsa. reporting live in washington edward lawrence. back to you. >> thank you. >>> the mother of "the was

>> reporter: well, eun, it's a huge hack. and millions -- potentially millions of former and current federal employees are at risk. those employees potentially had their personal data breached in all of this and china is suspected of being behind the hack. now, the hackers broke into the computer data system for the office of personnel management, opm. personal information including names and social security numbers and birth dates may have been compromised in this. opm approved the security clearances, although a u.s. official tells nbc news it's not a worst case scenario, where identities of covert agents were revealed. federal employees though who were potentially affected in this will be notified and they're going to have access to identity theft information. they're also being advised to keep very close tabs on their personal accounts. banking accounts, other types of financial accounts just to make sure there is no activity occurring without their authorization. meanwhile, china is denying any involvement. they say that
