that's where mike seidel of the weather channel is. mike? >> this is the largest privately owned campground in the country. over 6,000 lots and many of those were destroyed by last night's storm which blew through here around 11:00. the weather service will determine later today if we had a twister, but look at the degree of damage. this is the worst part of this park. this home just a pile of rubble on top of an suv. over here we have a flipped mobile home trailer. it's blocking the road. corrugated aluminum. across the street another trailer on its side. that huge beautiful camping vehicle, someone's summer home. most of the people here are out here in the summer for six months enjoying the warmer weather. look at that flipped over. let's walk down the street. let me show you what's going on down the street. as far as we can see, all the trees are down and the entire landscape has been flattened. another home over here just a big pile of rubble and debris. it's going to be a long clean-up process. fortunately, only five injuries and only o

the weather channel's mike seidel is in illinois. how bad is it there? how bad has it been? >> reporter: well where i am it's fine. we're in joliet it was pretty bad. i was in sublet yesterday morning. we have plenty of video to show you, sublet and south, you showed the picture from coal city. coal city they came in from the weather service, the survey with a high end ef-3 tornado estimated max winds of 160 miles an hour. and that is the strongest tornado in the chicago area since the f-5 in plain field 25 years ago. the strongest tornado in the area in 25 years. fortunately between sublet and plainfield, about a dozen injuries none of them serious. you get a sense of how powerful the storms were that rolled through monday night. they had the weather channel on and everybody got to cover. so fortunately no serious injuries or if afatalities. now we're concerned with more severe weather and heavy rain. south and west of here that front that came through as a cold front that produced a tornado monday night and early tuesday morning is coming back as a warm front. we have a fl
