news 4's pat collins live now in tacoma park with the story. pat? >> reporter: jim, this wasn't one of those open and shut kind of things. it took about ten months before investigators to piece this case together. colby avenue takoma park. manicured lawns. groomed gardens. and down the street the home of lalane and cecil brown. this was sort of a centerpiece of colby avenue. it was the browns who had the big christmas displays. it was the browns who set up and organized the annual block party. hardly a place you'd expect to find a twisted story like this. >> i have so ai haven't been able to sleep since i found out about it. >> reporter: august 4th, 2014 73-year-old cecil brown was found dead in his backyard. it was ruled a case of murder. they say he'd been beaten to death. when police got to the scene, neighbors say his wife larlane was sitting alongside the house an saying over and over again, how could someone do something like this? how could someone do something like this? well now, maybe we know. according to court documents, obtained by news

pat collins is at the scene now in northwest d.c. pat? >> reporter: jim, according to court documents, from jordan wallace's car, police seized a number of items including a gopro camera, a laptop, a backpack and some car parts like arm rests and a locker panel. it's unclear as to what evidentiary value all of this might have. in court today, another search warrant unsealed a search warrant for a bmw car that belonged to jordan wallace. the cart re was recovered a block away from the crime scene on the day of the murder. wallace was a personal assistant to savvas savopoulos. his boss told him to bring $40,000 in cash to that house, an apparent ransom payoff for the suspect holding the family captive. that money has not been accounted for. police say wallace changed his story about when he was told to get the money and how he brought that money to the house. according to court documents police searched his car looking for money wrappers, banking documents and other evidence that may be linked to the victims. jordan wallace has not been cha

news4's pat collins is in temple hills with how police caught up with the guy. pat? >> reporter: wendy this is a vacant home on cedar drive in prince george's county. residents say squatters come and go from here all the time. last weekend this was the scene of a violent rape. police describe the suspect as a man on a sex assault spree. the suspect, 22-year-old alou which is bell, charged with two rapes of two different victims in less than two hours. rape number one, this is how they tell the story in court documents. it was about 8:30 friday night. they say alou which is bell was in one of these buildings on st. barnabas road. he was there with a 22-year-old woman he had nope for a couple of weeks. they were waiting for some friends to show up when all of a sudden, he starts tearing her clothes off. is she is resists, he puts his hands around her neck and starts choking her and then, then they say he raped her and he took off. rape number two, about two hours later, about 3-10ths of a mile away this time the victim a 19-year-old teenager. a total stranger. this tim

. >> we'll get to pat collins live to reaction to a maryland woman's death after a botched silicone injection. pat? >> reporter: she went to new york for a cosmetic procedure. it was done in the basement of a home there. shortly after she got the shots, she ended up dead. the victim identified as 34-year-old kelly mayhue a platform manager for b.e.t. television. according to police she died in new york last saturday after she went there for butt injections. kelly mayhue lived at the shadyside gardens in suitland. saturday they say her mother drove her to this home in queens. there in the basement of that house, they say a woman gave her silicone injections in her backside. not long after that they say she had trouble breathing that her mother gave her cpr, that they took her to the hospital where she later died. police say the procedure was arranged by a friend of ms. mayhue. police say the woman who administered the drugs disappeared. investigators are said to be trying to track her down and question her about what actually happened in the basement of this house. tonight, b.e.t. put out this

let's begin with pat collins in northwest d.c. >> how did that suspect get into that house to commit this vicious crime? it appears now, he wasn't led into the house. it appears he didn't talk his way into the house. it appears now he kicked down a door to get into that house. this is a xerox of the boot print they found here at the murder scene. it is hard to make out. according to court documents obtained by news4. there is a french door on the side of the house. the door is broken near the lock and a shoe or boot print is visible, suggesting a forced entry. that boot print is not consistent with boots worn by firefighters. that is important because this whole case began with the major fire at this mansion in woodley park. as firefighters responded, they found the bodies of savvas savopoulos, his wife amy, their 10-year-old son phillip and the family housekeeper vera figueroa. it was a case of murder. they had been beaten, tied up and held for more than 19 hours. a fire set in an apparent effort to cover up the crime. firefighters told police they didn't use that french
