they are trying to get the lights on for some 24,000 people without power and pepco is reporting 13,000 suspects -- people without power. much calmer than it was a few hours ago. we are not in the clear. brian is in the weather center with what comes next. brian: helping me out this evening, watches, tornado watches and warnings all the way through the evening as of 11:00. all of those watches have been allowed to expire. the northeast and all of those warnings are out of our area. there is still concerns. we have been inundated with so much rain, we still have an active flash flood warning until midnight with the rest of the areas under a flood watch through overnight because of all of the rain. take a look at the doppler radar and you can see the heaviest bands of rain down through the southern maryland area and you can steal see quite a bit of lightning pushing east out toward the day. the heaviest stuff is moving out that the system is still on the back side and you can see a little bit more of the moisture later tonight. as far as the active stuff, that has calmed down. here is one
