it starts at new york's battery park and end at city hall. and here now is another live look at the parade route. a huge police presence. the women's national team will be the first female team ever honored with a ticker tape parade in manhattan. you see firetrucks there. thousands of people already lining the streets. you can see young children on top of their fathers' shoulders. young little girls, no less, who are growing up watching these young women play just incredible soccer. as we continue to look live here. this is a parade that you know these parades just don't happen all that often. there have been 00200 of them since world war ii. they don't happen quite frankly, and a big portion of that 200 happened between 1945 and 1965. obviously, mostly for new york teams. but there have been individuals, statesmen, like winston churchill who have been celebrated with ticker tape parades. but they rarely happen. they've never happened for a women's team. and this is the first time that people in new york city will have a chance to celebrate -
