. >> reporter: i'm paul brennan in central london, the anniversary edition of the records book, which itself is breaking records. >>> and a bolt from the blue, we'll tell you how you sane's victory parade was brought to a crashing halt. ♪ >>> hello again, once a year twhoerl's biggest, best, tallest, shortest, and weirdest are gathered in one place, the guinness world's record book. the first edition was published exactly 60 years ago. and the late est edition hits t shelves next month. >> reporter: the boss of guinness got into an argument over which was the fastest european game bird. nobody knew the answer so he commissioned a new reference book to resolve the dispute, and here is that first edition from 1955. in the 60 years since at this office here in central london, guinness has become the definitive book of the fastest, the first, the biggest and the best. mount everest is well-known as the world's highest mountain, but the tallest mountain is actually on hawaii. and it's the human records of endu enduran endurance, and strength, which make the world's record book different.
